Hi Paul! Excited for you as you embark on this great adventure! With patience, forethought and a steady hand, you'll be holding a completed blaster in no time! Familiarity with tools and know-how will develop over time; you'll be a craftsman in your own right. And if you get it wrong, 'green stuff' will come save the day.
In my experience, keeping the FISD E-11 Blaster Reference close by is a good idea to give you the lay-of-the-land and insight on the build. I like to then dive into Tino's two builds to show me how it can be done, and done well in reaching personal build goals.
Look forward to future posts! Cheers!

Cool. Your efforts to replicate each and every detail is paying off Jesse. Folding stock is looking great.
Thanks Brian! Glad to hear the effort is paying off, cheers!

And, with you being US based, you’re probably at least 5 hours behind my mistakes!! Lollol, I guess it's built in that I have you to benefit from but, um, have you seen how much 'green stuff' I have on my build! - 'hands like a surgeon' (Brian) hands like a surgeon Dan, you got this!

Ah yes... I think my eagerness to get some bits together early on meant that I failed to check and just followed the pre-drilled pilot holes. Your scope rail is probably the same, Jesse, so you can learn from my mistakes. lol I've looked at some other builds and some are slightly different, for example with the end of the scope itself in line with the stock bolt, rather than the scope foot; however, the more accurate reference pictures go with Tino's positioning. No surprise there. ;-) ...
Yeah, the benefits of stretching out my build is to learn from others - another reason to stay connected! Yeah, I'm turning to the reference and to Tino for accuracy myself.

I couldn't help to look up the reference for you - Tino is spot on about alignment.

Here's a photo of that piece if it helps.Agree. His attention to details and craftsmanship are admirable.
Thanks so much for sharing your piece! It is a big help. Thanks also for the compliments; I have to say, I've gleaned much from those who have gone before me, appreciate it lots

Welcome to the FISD Tom! You're well on your way as aiming for Centurion from the get-go is the way to go, as many here will suggest. All the best!

First-rate work on the grub screw installation for your carved-out sight block - It's making the piece pop with detail! As for the lower-front portion of the inner rod you cut away, what you can do to hide the 'stump' is to cut out two pieces of plastic to rectangular shape and put a heat gun to it, and making it flush to say the rod, to form it's shape. I would then use E-6000 to glue the plastic pieces to the aluminum inner rod. I am thinking the versatility of E-6000 will do the trick as Tino's glue provided is excellent for resin to resin contact I believe. If you want to retain the aluminum look, would rub-n-buff do well here? Not entirely sure. Never used the product. Anyways, hope this helps! My two cents Dan!

Hi All,
I've made some more progress on the folding stock. I've spent sometime on figuring out how to represent the details of that perplexing piece of the folding stock - that vertical piece of the front pivot bushi. In studying pictures of the piece from a real SMG and looking at how the piece looks like installed; I've created a piece that mostly functions the same but only slightly resembles the real piece. I made it out of polymer clay reinforced by green stuff. The clay is baked at 425F for 14 minutes to get it hard, then applied green stuff to reinforce before shaping and test fit. I noticed later the angle on the vertical piece is too steep; I will need to file down slightly to get it more flush with other details.
Here's how that vertical piece looks like installed. I also put in the washers on either side of the front support pin on the folding stock. Pins also detailed as such to resemble installed rivets I believe.
Thanks for dropping by, have a great day!

Here's a photo of an actual Sterling SMG, so it looks like Ducati and T-jay got it spot on. *Update: mine is definitely wrong so I'm going to correct it. Kudos to you for highlighting this bit of detail Jesse.
I do allot of R&D at work; it's required for the job and like part of my DNA now. Glad to share my E-11 research for you and others to benefit. Thanks for the photo Tennant; I'll add it to my archives

Great pictures! Looked to be a really fun time; I'm sure the lego heads were a blast - Ooooh, couldn't help noticing the electronically powered E-11 Blasters, nice!

...Loving your extra effort to make the T-tracks looking like additional parts. Haven't seen this before (at least I can't remember) and these days it gets harder and harder to show a modification, that hasn't been done before. An excellent detail...
Yeah Tino, I agree - awesome seeing Dan trail blaze that mod with the t-tracks

Way to represent! TK armour looks like you just walked off set, superb!
