  1. Thanks Dan. But evidently I have some troubleshooting to do now
  2. I messed up! As caught by @darthcue, the folding stock was able to engage the back cap lugs without pressing the back cap catch. That implies to me there is excessive allowance between the back cap and the catch. More work to do!
  3. Thought this might be useful for some. I apologize for showing my face briefly >.<
  4. Thanks Tino! I'll be reaching out soon for the "stuff" we discussed...*wink wink*
  5. Thank you so much
  6. Forgot to include a photo of the spring to illustrate the bottom plate mechanism.
  7. STERLING SMG MAGAZINE BOTTOM PLATE Finally done with the magazine mechanism mod, and hence concluding the entire E-11 build...for now. I want to thank all the amazing, talented builders out there for sharing their journeys here through their detailed, informative threads. You continually raise the bar and inspire so many (more than you think) like me to make stuff. I also want to thank everyone who left encouraging comments on my thread. You guys rock! To be continued...?
  8. Thanks Rudi! My way of giving back to the community as I have learned from many awesome build threads here too.
  9. This was a double post.
  10. Instead, I am going to invest in a couple of other parts/upgrades that I will share when they eventually arrive.
  11. STERLING MAGAZINE FOLLOWER The follower spring is being fabricated, so I should be able to install the mechanism within the week and complete the magazine.
  12. Appreciate your compliments buddy
  13. Back to work on the follower. I found a pen that fits the diameter of the rollers, so I cut two pieces to size. I filed the chamfers by hand and primed them. Painted and ready to be installed. I cut a Lego piece to use as studs on one end, and as pin receivers on the chamfered end. I should have the completed and weathered follower in the next update.
  14. Oops. Corrected.
  15. Follower cleaned and painted in semi-gloss black. I am still searching for the right tube or rod for the rollers. So I started on the magazine mod. The magazine replica from Robert does not come with guides for the sliding plate. I cut two pieces of 0.008" steel sheets and folded them at the vice with a steel ruler. Test fit with tape. Painted and attached to the inside of the magazine opening with epoxy. I used magnets to pull the steel guides against the magazine walls while the epoxy set.
  16. Just realized this: I had meant to type "...hate to C-O-C-K the bolt back...", but it was changed to weenie! I built a F-11D with electronics! You can see my build thread here on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10154113391975974.1073741864.606335973&type=1&l=e25b434279
  17. I used his tracks for my build. They can certainly be bent by either dipping in hot water, using a hair dryer, or over a flame.
  18. On one hand, I can't wait to see how epic this will look when it's completed. On the other, I am enjoying your progress as you address each detail with precision and fantastic craftsmanship. Absolutely follow-worthy.
  19. Do it! It would be cool to see how you do yours. I just hate to pull the bolt back and see an abyss in there.
  20. Looks like I'm not done with this project. When I saw that Robert (swpropman) had made replicas of the magazine follower, I immediately placed an order with him for a set. To my surprise, it arrived along with the bottom plate and sliding plate in separate pieces! Here's a comparison between the original one-piece and the new two-piece plates. The follower replica is one solid piece, so I am going to modify it with working rollers. Test fit in the magazine. Left photo is Robert's real follower and right photo is the plastic replica. This morning I separated the roller portion from the holder. Unofrtunately that was all I had time for before rushing off to work. To be continued...
  21. Thank you so much everyone for your compliments. Really means a lot to me. I actually almost gave up in the middle of the build because I didn't think I could pull off a few details. It didn't help that I was also going through a depression phase with some crap going on in my life. Then I injured my knee and was told to rest it for a week at home, so I picked it back up and completed it with all the free time to fill. Cheers all!
  22. I did all those except I used double sided tape for the power cylinders. I can't add a magnet in the magazine because I am planning to modify it with working spring and follower when it arrives. Thanks for your suggestions though.
  23. And it's finished! Bear in mind there are a few details that are NOT screen accurate.
  24. I'm glad it's useful for you Jesse
  25. BRITISH STERLING L2A3 MK4 SMG Finished with the base gun! I am very reluctant to convert this to E-11 to be honest.
