  1. Hi Stuart and welcome to FISD:salute:

Just echoing Glens post about contacting you Garrison and more importantly your GML (Garrison membership Liaison) as they are the ones approving your membership or Basic level, then you can request TK-status and subsequently EIB (Expert Infantry) and Centurion here on FISD.

If you already are approved, request your TK-status here:https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/186-501st-and-detachment-access-requests/

I was looking into getting a screen accurate kit from RS, but living in USA makes that expensive. What's my best option where I live, or is it worth the money? (Do they run sales besides their Black Friday one?) Thanks!

If screen accuracy is your thing then RS and TM like Glen said is by far the best options. RS has the extra advantage of beeing cast from a screen used suit, not all the parts though but the majority of the suit is. TM is by far the best fan sculp out there and has continued to tweek his molds. Shipping is always a killer unless you are fortunate to live in the country of goods wanted. I belive black friday is usually the one time RS has a sale but I could be mistaken. TM as a 25% off from his regular price and that has lasted the entire year, not sure if he plan to extend that to next year but you could always reach out to him and ask.

Best of luck:salute: Oh! and it´s totally worth the money:duim:

ive noticed people put a patch of velcro on upper tongue of boots.is this to keep the shin guards from falling down to much?

It’s to keep them from twisting with coresponding velcro on the shin. If you get the fit right, thight around the boot and fairly snug on your calf you won’t need it:salute:

Is it too wonky for basic approval or is it fine?

That depends on your GML. I’m a GML and I would allow it with a suggestion to remove some material. As Glen mentioned it’s a bit twisted due to the material pushing outward. Please excuse the wonky illustration but it will give you an idea on how to adjust:salute:

Ok.. 5’6” ... Sounds like ANVOS isn’t an option even without the vertical challenge. I sent an e-mail to authenticprops@hotmail.com and no response. Who’s the latest good supplier for a custom 5’6” out of the box fully polished ANH ready for Trooping supplier on this side of the pond (USA or Canada?)

I would stay on target with AP, he’s a member on these boards so I will give him a nudge for you :salute: Calling @ABS80

  6. Here’s a pic to show it more clearly. Original to the left.

I know it's recommended to cut off the return edge here, but I left some in for the moment, because why not?

You can also see on the picture Glen provided (same bell) that there is indeed some return left at the bottom. So I did what you did and left some, it’s the most accurate :duim: but, perhaps trim a tad more of the ”centerpart”, you can compare to the original.

The elastic in the shins in my RS do not have really have a function.  The shins closes like a clamshell around my lower legs but it's screen acurate and a must for higher levels of aproval here on FISD.

Just a heads up - the use of elastic and hooks for closure of the shins is only an accuracy thing and not required for any level of approval.

Thanks all for the help, yeah I’ve shared this information with the owner so they can know where to go from there. They likely bought a set of decals and didn’t realize there were tons of differences worth noting.

If going for Centurion the lower ear screw is also incorrect, should be a V-head:salute:

    • Ear screws shall be slotted, flat topped, countersunk and painted white.
