  1. Looks great! For the pin striping I find it easiest to paint the black first. I filled in a good part of the traps/tears in black then painted the grey over that when it dried and was able to get a nice uniform line. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. If you checkout tk1636 on YouTube he shows using the thermal det tube I believe to get the curve. Things are looking good! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I'm in the same boat, I've been waiting since December so I should get it by September, fortunately I'm doing a sandtrooper so I had the backpack to build... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I'm waiting for Anovos armor too, did you hear anything about it shipping yet? I ordered after Dec 18, haven't heard anything yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks for the info. I just saw that Anovos has the neckseals on preorder. Do you think the FO kit is more difficult than a TK to assemble? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. My son is waiting for his to arrive in September too, where's a good place to get the neck seal, gloves, and boots? Thanks in advance! And awesome job... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Alright, thanks, I will check it out! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I haven't contacted anyone yet. Since I've only got the helmet so far I wasn't sure if I should wait. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Awesome photos. I just finished my first helmet, armor is supposed to arrive around Sept. I'm in the Reading area and planning on a TD build. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Hey, you're doing a great job. It looks really good so far! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Thanks to everyone who replied, a lot of good ideas and innovative people! Now to grab a hard hat..... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Perfect, thanks a lot, you've been a big help. Much appreciated! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Thanks for the reply. Great collection you've got there! My next question then is do you buy and cut up a hard hat or can you buy the liner and clips? Also, what fabric do you have in your FOTK? My son has the Anovos helmet and we will be starting his armor around Sept if it arrives on time. Thanks again! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I'm looking for some ideas about the most comfortable way to wear the helmet. Star foam, hard hat liner, particular type of padding? Thanks to anyone for your ideas or methods! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Sure, I've seen several builds where the inside was done with plastidip and cheese cloth, kind of gives it a military grade look. It's really just personal preference, and thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Ok, so like the headline says this is my first build. It's an ATA lid, I'm planning on doing a TD (just to avoid painting the vertical lines..[emoji13]). I still have to install the lenses and hovi tips, and I also plan on plasta dipping the inside. Not to mention weathering it. I'm not sure if my pics will show so I might have to figure that out as well. My apologies if I screw that up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I just started my ATA helmet, it's really nice. I was told the wait is 9 months but I was able to get the helmet in the meantime. My quote was $530 for everything and that was in November....hmm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I thought it was great, it butts nicely against episode 4. I think it actually enhances episode 4. I loved all the little Easter eggs scattered throughout like blue milk, a turbo tank, Mustafar, Red Five before Luke had his call sign. I loved it. Anyone notice that the basic TK's didn't have a normal kidney plate, they had a vertical piece that ran down to their thermal detonators kind of like the FO troopers. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing it again tomorrow... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Thanks, just what I was looking for. Also, I enjoy your videos, very informative! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I'm about to start building my first helmet (ATA). Since I'm new at this I had wanted to see if there is anything that I need to keep in mind about ATA helmets in-particular before I start. If this question is answered elsewhere I apologize, I was unable to find anything. Thanks in advance! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Usually I'm told I talk too much, this time not enough...thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I was possibly interested in purchasing something from there but was not able to type anything, I was told I didn't have permission. What is needed to interact there? Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Great, thanks for the link! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. That's all good to hear, I'm on the wait list now also! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I'm going to be starting my first helmet build soon, an ATA and I can't wait. I've seen that some guys plastidip the inside. I've never worked with plastidip before. Has anyone sprayed the insides before trimming and putting the helmet together? I'm unsure if that paint will cause problems while trimming and sanding. Also, does anyone here add cheesecloth into the paint? Beyond it adding texture does it benefit the helmet in any way such as rigidity? Thanks in advance! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
