Well I suppose it was bound to happen, I've fitted the hovi mix but.... I tried to fit the wire mesh, cut it in a circle, tried to fit it, but the bits on the end just fell out , tried to re-fit them but they looked a mess.... I'm totally stumped, how on earth do you fit the mesh to the hovi mix, I've searched UKG and FIDS but drawn a blank. I feel stumped, and if something as small as this is stumping me, well how on earth am I going to cope with building the armour..... humm..... Anyway I thought I would superglue the mesh behind the frown, well, I managed to glue my fingers together, not having a good day lol, but in the end I did manage to get one side stuck, so I guess a bit of progress ..... will do a bit more tomorrow Still worried about the hobo mix, will speak to RS to get some more mesh... Well finally plucked up the courage to try to paint the tube stripes , they need another coat and a bit of tidying up. .... I used panda troopers template, tried versions dry runs which at best were..... well..... dismal So I thought .... cut them out..... Use the cut outs as a template and draw around them Then paint them As I said they need another coat and tidying up..... Are they looking ok? Thanks [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not done so much lately so progress is slow. I've printed off the tube stripe templates that panda trooper posted, I've stuck them on with tape to check they are in the right place, next I will make a template as per pandatrooper and paint them on Also started to cut out the mesh fir behind the teeth, it needs another coat of paint Nothing else to do so I polished the lid with auto glym polish Then took a selfie lol Last week I ordered my armour from RS and should be able to collect it in a couple of weeks.... I just hope I can put it together. There are some good build threads on here like Crickets, and the armourers on the UKG have been really helpful giving me tips and instructions on how to construct my lid, so it's good to know that I'm not on my own. Looking good , I like the summary of the 16 page syou posted, very helpful an di also like the idea of the motorcycle interior cap , I think I have a spare one of those . I've just ordered my RS kit an dhopefully pick it up in a couple of weeks, so I hope you don't mind if I pick your brains on how to do things, like you I'm going to have to cut down the chest, And doing the return edges .... well I'm not looking forward to that..... the template you made looks good, may have to see if I can pull some of those together. How did you get the rise and fall on your template for the chest return edge?

Well today I've fitted the right ear, was dreading doing it as the left ear was so difficult, but fir some reason this one was much easier, I don't know if it's because I learnt from the last one or what. I still think it needs a few tweaks though. A bit more progress, widened the teeth details and narrowed the black like in tears and trap, only done the left side and not tweaked the ear painting yet. Is this going in the right direction? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sorry to hear about your thigh problem, but it will be worth the wait. I wish I had seen your progress and tips on constructing lid before I riveted mine together... doh... Ok today I have tweaked the brow , looking at centurion applications on FISD their brows seemed lower, I think this looks better [emoji3]. It's still only bolted together . Will rivet it when I'm happy with it , been trimming the left ear as well, not got a pic of that sorry Now the right side, well I've messed it up a bit, well a lot actually, doh, I've drilled so many holes in it I will need to fill some with abs paint, doh, Some will be hidden behind the ears, some won't [emoji20] Now I know it's two rivets and three ear bolts that hold the cap and face together , can you use more than two rivets? Ok I have attached the cap to the face with some small bolts and plastic washers, this is only temporary until I rivet it in place. How does this look? Thanks for the advice, it's very much appreciated. I was intending to use some small bolts initially (instead of the rivets) whilst I sort the ears out and decide how I'm going to fit the lenses , that way if I need to take it all apart later I can. Once everything is finalised I can rivet it. On the RS lid there are bumps where the rivets and ear screws go which I guess are where they were in the original, so I'm hoping, fingers crossed , that they will be ok . Ok I have trimmed the forehead today and fitted the brow, I think it's a bit lob-sided as the tube curves on the cap don't line up with the face and when I make them line up then the brow is lower on the left side as you look at it , but then the top of the cap doesn't seem straight . Also the recesses above the brow are 1 inch deep in the right as you look at it and 1.25 inches deep on the left, should these be the same? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ok I've tweaked the eyes and finished the teeth, next job cut out both half of the lid, drawn some lines where I think I need to cut. Any advice, thanks Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
