  1. I shortened my shins just a tad from the ankle. Shins are fairly easy to get right for us vertically challenged. I also cut out the backs so I can move better. I made the ankle holes slightly to tight which results in the shin pieces rising up over the shoes when walking, but it's fixed now wit a strap that goes under the heal. Thighs, another thing.
  2. It's built to Centurion specs so OF COURSE I will apply for EIB/Centurion Just haven't had time to take the pics yet. Sizing down is a challange in it self and some times I felt that I took huge risks, but measure, measure, measure, measure, measure and cut. What really helped me was the belt sander, with it you really can take baby steps. The good thing with RS ABS is that it's just 1,5 mm and it bends easily when putting stuff together. I personally made the coverstrips slightly thinner to compensate for the armour size. Proportion is everything! Oh, the pouch, it belongs to a Shoretooper Good luck with your build... and take it easy
  3. Indeed! Get a benchtop belt/disc sander if you don't have one, it will be your best friend, trust me. The cheap Chinese crap will do, at least for me it did. It's useful for other stuff too. And good luck with your build.
  4. Oh! look what showed up in the mail today. On to the next adventure. Never thought this would be so addictive. Will be continued in the proper detachment...
  5. Have the boots and the ammo pouch. When can I order the rest?
  6. Thanks! Once you give your self in to this stuff I doubt it will ever leave you. I'll probably hang around here till I die. BTW have already plans for getting a shoretrooper, This thing is really addictive.
  7. Here I am with my Stormtrooper armour, and it was quite a fast and scary dive into building something totally unfamiliar. This dream of even seeing a real stormtrooper probably started 36 years ago, and now I have my own, how cool is that! I am small and thin an had to trim away about 15% off the armour, which wasn't always that comfortable. But with a lot of studying and brave thoughts I cut into the meat and the end result in my eye is very pleasing. Without this forum there would not be a as good looking TK as it is now, so thanks all you peeps here for sharing and caring! TK-30773 as ready as ever to serve the Empire! Cheers, Rasmus
  8. TK-30773 from the Nordic Garrison requesting 501st access. http://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=22156
  9. I'm pretty shore:) the Orca Bay shoes are the Elk colour. Sand and Havana have a more matt finish. As you can see in the pic the shoes are quite glossy and dark underneath the dirt. Elk colour
  10. You took the words out of my mouth! This looks fantastic!
  11. Did a little test troop in the Finnish archipelago. Got a job as a doorman at a local bar.
  12. Some rivet and screw painting left to do, but other wise I'm DONE! 501st here I come.
  13. last cover strip I'll be glueing in a while!
  14. The thighs has really been a struggle for me. They have noting to do with a man of my size. But the left one is done (took almost a week to finish it) So close now, only one thigh to battle. I'm starting to bond with this armour, and I actually think it looks pretty good on me despite my size. Happy man!
  15. Torso ready. I'll post some pics of it on me later. The fit is good. Never actually thought this would fit me at all. [
  16. Sure. I chose Trooperbays painted look decals. They look great and couldn't be easier to apply. Maybe I'll paint with stensils later.
  17. Starting to get the hang of making return edges. But plate done. I'll probably be the slimmest Stormtrooper in this galaxy The helmet looks kind of big on me, but that's life in a small mans world. Almost there! Strapping missing here and there. The canvas belt is here tomorrow. Then the bloody thighs that need a lot of trimming. If I make them fit well they will most likely look too thin. so I guess I need to compromise a little.
  18. When you start doing a new return edge the looks can be deceiving. You just stare at the result and start crying. But with some abs paste, a file and sandpaper you can do wonders. This edge still needs some sanding, but it's a self made return edge. Hurray! Original vs self made kidney plate return edge.
  19. This much had to go from the kidney plate. Scary... Return edge on the kidney plate is under construction.
  20. Some youtube research kind of confirmed the thought I had in my head. This video at 2:25 is the way to go me thinks.
  21. Shin time. The shins tend to move up over my shoes when I walk, have to figure out some strapping here. Maby some strap under the heel or something.
  22. It's some kind of test fitting time. Nothing on the torso is really cut down to my size yet, but I don't think I have to trim away as much as I thought. Still waiting for the canvas belt from RS. sorry for the crappy photo. FYI I'm 169 cm tall and weigh 56 kg, let the google converters roll. How the heck do I deal with these wrinkles? They look awful and need to be flattened out somehow.
