  1. I figured that out after I uninstalled and reinstalled the app Speaking of which, my SETUP.TXT looked like this: [profile=WMIC_BGL.TXT] [access_code=76253] [debug=1] [echo=1] One of these issues caused the app to register an invalid access code upon initial pairing. When I removed the SD card and zeroed them out, it worked fine. The bigger problem is that, after using the updated app last night to delete a profile, it displayed no profiles afterwards. After some troubleshooting, I discovered that somehow all my profiles became corrupted. Windows couldn't delete the corrupted files because their names had turned into non-ASCII characters, so I had to reformat the entire card and start from scratch. I reloaded the backed-up configs from my PC onto the card and then started up the TKTalkie. Sometimes it takes multiple attempts to connect the app to the device. > RX: disconnect=6e1f193819d5263 > BLE Cmd: disconnect Value: Uid: 6e1f193819d5263 > RX: connect=6e1f193819d263|76253 > BLE Cmd: connect Value: 76253 Uid: 6e1f193819d263 > Received access code 76253 > DEVICE ID 6e1f193819d263...Send Access OK {"cmd":"access","data":"1"} > RX: config=6e1f193819d5263 > BLE Cmd: config Value: Uid: 6e1f193819d5263 > RX: connect=6e1f193819d5263|76253 > BLE Cmd: connect Value: 76253 Uid: 6e1f193819d5263 > Received access code 76253 > DEVICE ID 6e1f193819d5263...Send Access OK {"cmd":"access","data":"1"} > RX: config=6e1f193819d5263 > BLE Cmd: config Value: Uid: 6e1f193819d5263 > Sending config {"cmd":"config", "data": { "ver":"3.0",> Filter: .WAV STARTUP.WAV "sounds":["STARTUP.WAV"],"effects":["TKT_CLK1.WAV","TKT_CLK2.WAV","TKT_CLK3.WAV","TKT_CLK4.WAV","TKT_CLK5.WAV","TKT_CLK6.WAV","TKT_STA1.WAV","TKT_STA2.WAV","TKT_STA3.WAV","TKT_STA4.WAV","TKT_STA5.WAV"],> Filter: .WAV "loops":[],> Get setting: profile > Check setting profile = WMIC_BGL.TXT > Return value WMIC_BGL.TXT "default":"WMIC_BGL.TXT","current": {"name":"Test1.TXT","desc":"Wireless w Chatter "},"name":"Wireless w Chatter ","volume":0.5000,"mic_gain":3,"linein":5,"lineout":29,"startup":"","loop":"","loop_gain":2.0000,"high_pass":0,"voice_gain":1.0000,"voice_start":0.0700,"voice_stop":0.0200,"silence_time":350,"button_pin":0,"button_click":"","input":0,"effects_gain":5.0000,"eq":0,"eq_bands":"-1.0000,0.0000,1.0000,0.0000,-1.0000","bitcrushers":"12,16384,10,10240","noise_gain":0.0000,"effects_dir":"/effects/","sounds_dir":"/sounds/","loop_dir":"/loops/","profiles":[> Filter: .TXT TEST1.TXT WMIC_BGL.TXT > Load Settings File /profiles/TEST1.TXT > Opening file /profiles/TEST1.TXT {"name":"TEST1.TXT","desc":"Wireless w Chatter "},> Load Settings File /profiles/WMIC_BGL.TXT > Opening file /profiles/WMIC_BGL.TXT {"name":"WMIC_BGL.TXT","desc":"Wireless w Chatter "}],"mute":0,"bg":0}} EDIT: removed problem issue which was the result of an unsupported file name (file name > 8 chars) Sometimes it takes me two or more attempts to save a configuration or select a new profile as the default profile. I verified the files on my PC, reloaded the Sample.txt profile, deleted the TK76253_BL.txt file, and loaded it back into the TK Talkie. All the profiles came up OK. I even deleted a few more and everything is OK, for now. I'm worried there's a pointer error somewhere in the COnfig Manager that may not be acting correctly. Last night, I deleted the last profile and then everything else became corrupted. but when I did that today, the other profiles were seemingly OK.
  2. Seemingly, there was an update released four days ago that my phone just downloaded, v1.0.1. Not sure if that would skew the results. What release should I be looking for on the Google Play Store?
  3. Done. Also, to answer your last question first, I did upgrade to 1.8.2 since there didn't seem to be a need to downgrade since I was able to correct the file errors by manual copy & paste). I verified the sketch before I loaded it to the device. Here I enabled echo and then connected the phone. I then turned up the headphone volume to ensure everything was working. I then listed all the profile files for your reference. > Got startup value DEBUG: true > Get setting: profile > Check setting profile = TKCONF2.TXT > Return value TKCONF2.TXT > Got startup value 5. Thanks. I meant to append that it is making only 3 beeps, which seems to suggest that there's an error opening up the settings. I used the SD Formatter as you suggested, but still had the same issue. It seems that I can create profiles, and can change the default to the new profile, but I can't change, delete, or set as default a previously existing profile (the latter gives me three beeps). Even the Sample Profile is affected.
  6. The Config Manager seems really buggy on my Galaxy S6. I can save a profile, but it won't show up on the list after it saves, making me thing it didn't save, When I restart the app and TK Talkie, it's there. It won't delete profiles I had to manually edit the SD Card to remove some profiles and change the default profile (see below). It won't change the default profile. It worked when I switched from the Sample Profile to my first custom profile, but no longer seems to function. Ex.: when I switch from my wireless mic profile to my wired mic profile, the TK Talkie produces four beeps and restarts, but the profile is still on my default profile. The red light stays solid on the BLE module, and I can still affect changes to other settings, like volume, mic gain playing the startup sound, etc.,, but the Config Manager doesn't seem to be as responsive. Not being able to switch between profiles or set the default profile (without removing the SD Card) is worrisome.
  7. On another note, when I got my v3 set up last night, after I talked, it would play my startup sound instead of the click.and static effects. Turns out that the config that was generated pointed effects to [effects_dir=/sounds/] instead of [effects_dir=/effects/]. This is actually an artifact from the Sample Profile provided from the site. Once i fixed the directory it was business as usual.
  8. Got the hardware upgraded and the sketch uploaded (no thanks to Windows messing up the file text). I was wondering: in the video you mentioned you were able to program the BLE module's name. How is this accomplished? I couldn't seem to find how to do this in the tutorial or the help file.
  9. I was in the same boat with Android and the TKTalkie was really a great, less expensive solution than the iComm or waiting for an Android app that will never come due to the audio latency issues inherent with the OS. I also don't have to worry about tying up my phone while trooping. I'm modifying my TKTalkie to v3 soon so I can adjust it on the fly through the phone app. The phone only makes setting adjustments but the micro hardware still does all the work.
  10. I'll probably just hard wire mine in with lead wires. Still have room in my case and don't plan to disconnect it, so as long as there isn't a lot of RF interference from the chips impeding the BLE interface, it should work fine and I won't have to worry about the module popping off while everything is powered on. I can also wire the Mic Out back in at the same time since I'll be able to swap in case the wireless mic runs out of juice or breaks
  11. I noticed that the BLE module you photographed for the v3 tutorial has a different amount of pins than the BLE module you linked to eBay in your tutorial. Which one is the correct one to buy? I just want to make double sure before I purchase something I can't use.
  12. Outstanding! Looking forward to trying it out! Sent from my SM-T530NU using Tapatalk
  13. Looking forward to the upgrade! Loving my TK Talkie and might start building them to order for my garrison :-) Sent from my SM-T530NU using Tapatalk
  14. I've never used an Aker but swear by my Pyle Pro. Sent from my SM-T530NU using Tapatalk
  15. Sorry I haven't had time to put up a wiring diagram. Been busy this weekend doing contract work, and I have to fly out on a business trip tomorrow. I'll see what I can do while I'm on the road :-)
  16. The Cliff's Notes version is as follows: I'm using a Pyle Pro instead of Hovi mcs, so in my bucket I only have two sets of fans (a pair of small fans behind the hovi tips and a pair of blowers in my forehead), the MK136 hearing assist, and a wireless mic. The former two both run from a single Antec LifeBar 3 USB power bank which has two 5v outputs at 1A and 2A. I use the former for the MK136 and the latter for the fans. On initial install of the MK136, I got a lot of EM noise from the fans through the MK136. After thinking about how to create a low-pass filter, I used off-the-shelf tech and grabbed a US VDSL filter, just to experiment with, since I know that these simple devices filter noise out above a certain frequency in order to keep analog phone conversations and VDSL DMTs from interfering with each other. Sure enough, it worked. So I unboxed the filter, shrink wrapped it, and installed it in-line between the LifeBar and the MK136. Of course, then I ended up also having to deal with all the RF noise on the MK136 from the wireless mic, which involved a lot of copper tape
  17. Edit: reread your post. Apologies that you can't find a DSL filter in the UK since Europe mostly uses Annex B. I'm not sure if ADSL filters would do the trick as ADSL uses a slightly different frequency spectrum, and a related filter might not filter all the EM noise made by the fans. Really, my discovery was purely experimental serendipity. I've done it on my system referred to in the OP, but I did have the advantage of the DSL filter. But the MK136 and both sets of fans run off the same 5V USB back in my bucket.
  18. I completely understand both sides of he argument and take no umbrage
  19. This topic recently came up (again) on the Anovos Kit Building Group on FB. My take on the pauldron has always been this: Personally, I feel that CRLs are needed so that costumes don't turn into a hodge podge of thrown-together accessories (of which I may be slightly guilty of sometimes, with things like a pauldron or comlink on my non-Hero non-sandy TK). That being said, CRLs are based on static movie references that get retconned constantly, even with new canon. I'll go without a pauldron for LFL or canon troops, but otherwise I'm fine with making my own decisions within the boundaries of my garrison.
  20. I never had an issue with the headphone cables themselves, but I did have a terrible issue with the leads from the HA mics picking up a ton of RF noise from the wireless mic, hence the copper tape on the bracket that goes between those cables and the wireless mic.
  21. Have you tried a low-pass filter? It worked for me between my fans and hearing assist module. https://obsidiustk.blogspot.com/2016/11/upgrade-bring-noise-hearing-assist-fan.html
  22. Just finished my initial build. So far, so good I had two thoughts: Use one of the analogue pins for a dial to dynamically adjust mic or line in gain, in case the mic is picking up too much echo or background noise. This can be a problem with the iComm. Use one of the digital pins to start or stop the background loop. Maybe something that can be put into the next sketch? Just elect new pins like what the config has for the PTT pin.
