Hey Brian how much are those vintage sterling front screws?
To be honest I don't know how much the screws were. I contacted Chris directly and asked him to quote me for the parts with postage and he gave me a bulk price. I haven't seen him listing them on any of his sales sites yet.
Sorry mate

Wow, great work! Your Blaster is looking awesome!
Thanks Christian. Just read through your conversion thread and IT is the awesome one.

Glad my parts were useful for you, came our really nice!
I did the same thing, left it new looking for a year. About 2 months ago I went back and added some topical weathering as there was a couple of areas where the paint has worn through and so was time to dirty her up a touch!
I need to do another at some point, was really fun and also my first prop build.
I don't think the old is wearing out so much as they did a bit of a lazy job filling some of it to allow the molds to be made.
Thanks Chris. I read your thread on many occasions. Just wish I could have been as organised as you. That goes for your armour build as well.
I don't know if I will weather this one or not. My thought is to leave it as a standard for my future builds that way I can track my abilities via the medium of blasters
I've ordered a Sheartech rubber blaster for trooping so this one will be the first one displayed.

WOW
I've only just found your build Christian and I'm blown away. This is exactly the kind of information that I have been looking for for my upcoming sterling conversion.
I have already made my scope rail according to your template, so thank you for that.
Excelent work.

So I have a doopy doos pipe blaster kit which I learned is for 40mm pipe. I accidentally bought a 38.1mm OD PVC pipe. I'm not sure which one to sell. The 40mm pipe at Home Depot is too thick. The 38.1 is too small. Any thoughts?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've never done a doopy pipe kit but from the look of it there are only a couple of pieces that would be affected by the smaller ID, the bolt and the muzzle. I have heard of people trimming/sanding the back (unseen side) of the bolt to allow it to fit inside thick wall 40mm OD pipe. The muzzle should only need sanded a little to allow it to insert into the end of the pipe. Everything else fixes to the outside and have already been profiled to suit the diameter.
The thicker pipe will be stronger and will allow for the drilling and cutting of all the holes better. Do a bit of searching on here and I'm sure you will find someone's thread showing how they have done it.
Hope this helps you Craig
Remember to start a build thread for your blaster and ask as many questions as you need. You will find that everybody will be happy to help you.

Awesome! Thank you Brian for the kindest of words. It was truly a pleasure and and honor to make them for you. Appreciate the super review of the scopes and hope they will serve you well blasting rebel scum with higher accuracy! You have a huge inventory now so looking forward to seeing more blaster builds from you! Lol!
Thanks Brian. I'll obviously show more detail of the scopes when it comes time to start building.
I wish I could get a couple of weeks off work to just get stuck into the pipe build. I'm hoping the sterling conversion wont take too long, it's only sticking a couple of things onto a gun right? At least I wont have to risk damaging any of my blasters once built as I've just ordered a rubber blaster for trooping with.

Well Hello There (said in my best Obi-Wan voice)
It's been a while since I stopped in to update on my ever growing pile of lovely, lovely blaster parts. Got my Armour approved, took it to EIB then up to Centurion level. Then I had to get the electonics in my lid finished for my induction troop. All done now and I'm now a fully functioning TK.
Got more bits to show so decided to post them all together.
I have been watching Brian (Bulldog44) creating his amazing replica resin scopes and decided to treat myself when his latest run opened. I'm sorry to say that I was a little bit greedy and ordered two of his M38 scopes. I was on vacation when they were shipped to me so I had a longer wait than I wanted to get my hands on them. It was WELL worth the wait. I cannot compliment Brian highly enough on these or recommend them highly enough for anyone thinking about a blaster build.

I took one out of the (amazing) packaging that Brian has put together for them for a little look, but put it all back together again until build time. I'll probably go back to Brian in the future for one of his M19 scopes too, I just always preferred the look of the M38 but I suppose variety is the spice of life as they say. That's in the future as at the moment I have more scopes than blaster projects. Does that mean that I HAVE to build more?
I have also been watching Chris (Fieldmarshall) do fantastic things with his attempt to completely recreate a blaster mostly out of aluminium. His attention to detail on this project is spectacular. I ordered a few things from him to boost my parts haul.

As with the parts from Brian I took these out, had a wee look and put them all away again, but I am so impressed with the quality of all the parts.
I'm really not doing myself any favours by assembling such an array of top quality parts as I now have to put them all together in a way that does each and every one of them justice.
Why did I do this to mysely? Really please someone tell me why?
The list of parts I still need to order is shrinking, but my workload is ever increasing
I don't know when my next update will be as I need to thoroughly sort out what I have as it is all spread around the house at the moment. Then I'll try and get the last (Hahaha) of my parts ordered. Then the hard work will begin.
Once again, thanks for dropping by my friends
Brian

LOL. I hear you about the wallet. This hobby can inflict some serious financial woes.
You said it. I'm actually afraid to calculate how much I've spent on blasters in the past 18 months since I bought my first doopydoo kit.
I will eventually document all the parts and prices and sellers for all the parts I've bought and make sure the wife doesn't see it
I have one more set of t-tracks to order for my sterling and maybe a completion kit from Tino just in case. Then that's it ........ maybe

Ready to supply you with one anytime!
Don't try your sweet talking with me Brian At the moment I have more scopes than blaster projects so I think I'll give my wallet a short break and not start planning another just yet. My next scope will be one of your M19 beauties.

Those sure are mighty pretty little things. I can't wait to get started on mine but life has raised it's annoying head again leaving me with very little time. Trying to get organised for my first troop too. Excited

As far as I understand it, and again not a lawyer, kits are fine. Though you'd technically become the manufacturer but that's no different to a doopy kit at that point.
Im sure there's a line you might cross if the replica parts are too close to already firearm parts. But I've ordered resin mags from the US no issue.
That's where the problem might lie with fieldmarshalls kit. Have you seen how crazy good that stuff is? I've ordered a few parts from him that should hopefully arrive in the next week or so. Time will tell if they get stopped. Again will depend on the description declared for shipping.

Great information on importing blasters to the UK Chris. I wonder how it will work with blaster kits like the one Chris - Fieldmarshall is working on? I've imported bits and pieces of blasters ( bolt, grip, stock etc) but none been metal or have been as obvious as a full receiver tube.

I went with score and snap method as I'm used to using a knife. As for sandpaper I used 80 grit for rough sanding to get to trim lines then 180 or above for final sanding. I think I used mostly 320 grit in case I slipped.

These are the base for the rogue one blasters I believe. Not the blaster version but the air soft sterling. Have a good look in the weapons locker at the rogue one section and it will give a great deal of information on these

Hi Brian,
I'm getting a Stanley Fatmax Promobile Jobsite Tool Chest 130ltr..
Should do the job(I hope)
Lol
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That should fit no problem as mine does fit in the 113ltr. That's without the helmet of course. It's separate in an oxford lidsack.
I couldn't go larger due to my restrictive car

Very nice piece. It's outstanding... cool addings there
Thanks man. I'd actually like to do another doopydoo build in the future to see what I can do differently.
I actually got a doopy kit for my future son-in-law and he hasn't built it yet. Perhaps I could offer to help him out by building it for him? Just to help him out of course Nothing in it for me

Hello Brian. Congratulations on completing your first E-11 blaster and thanks for the kudos.
It really looks like a factory new blaster, sitting ready in the shelf, waiting to get grabbed by the next stormtrooper and collecting marks of wear and tear on the battlefields
You definitely took the extra mile with all the additional parts and turned this kit into something special. You can be proud of what you achieved, Brian.
Looking forward to your next blaster build - this one hopefully with build thread
Thanks for your kind words Tino. Praise coming from the master means a lot.
My shiny blaster matches my shiny armour. I will probably revisit the paintwork and add weathering. Never got to the brass paint in the scope as I had planned. I'm very happy with the results for my first build.
My next build will be twofold as I managed to get my hands on a deactivated sterling while collecting the parts for an aluminium pipe build so they will probably start off together. Both will be documented in as detailed build threads as I can manage starting with the scopes I'm expecting from Brian (Bulldog44)

American Tourister has a booth at the Celebration. I noticed a few other troopers had there so I jumped right on that bandwagon and bought one.

70x50x31cm. Fits my TK with room to spare... and... it goes as a checked bag with no oversize fees.
That's a sweet case. It would go nicely with the R2-D2 carry-on luggage I have. Just the carry-on droid I was looking for

There's a lot to be said for using a large suitcase. Most long serving members in my garrison use one. I'll need to grab one at some point for occasions when my Stanley isn't the most practical option.
To fit its roughly forearms in side the shins inside the thighs, all other bits apart and stack. Should fit just fine. If you make bags from a blanket for each part it will stop scratching.
I've reached out to Tony at assassin graphics but I'm trying to get my hands on a High resolution image of the Imperial Scottish Squad logo for him so I can get it put on my plates.
I'll wait and see how the bin works out before I decide whether I need something else.
