Getting there. Had a major problem where the weight of the barrel was too much for the receiver....long story....it was a mistake on my part. So what is did was add a mending plate as a support brace between the barrel and receiver. I know I know, it's not the most screen accurate but then again neither is this blaster if you want to be honest. It will be a fun blaster for trooping and it didn't cost me $300!

Making progress. Just hit the ends with a little black primer just to get an idea of what the bondo would look like painted and if I needed to sand more.
To be honest it's not a hard build. Just takes time.
I would like to add t tracks but not sure how to.
Looking forward to having it complete.

Thanks! Did not repaint the helmet. It's actually a 2 piece rubies helmet. It's a very cheap plastic kids helmet. I still gotta do some things to it before she wears it but I went cheap because I'm not sure how often she will wear it.

Trimmed sanded and working on assembly. I made a lot of mistakes but the thing I keep reminding myself of is that this is NOT "real armor" that I am putting together for 501st approval. This is something fun for my daughter to wear with me on troops.
Been replacing everything that is black with pink.
Getting there.

You can see some gap in this pic

Remember this....some gap is cannon. If you look at screen shots from the OT you will see some gaps on all stormtrooper helmets. So don't worry too much about eliminating all gaps.

Took advantage of the nice weather and no work to cut out all of the pieces. Now I need to sand and paint

Very nice! Any more pics you have of the interior would be appreciated. I'm trying to decide if I need to add a shim or something between the chest and ab piece

Ok so I decided to start a build thread on this. I am building this for my 6 (almost 7) year old daughter. These "battle buddies" were on clearance (and may still be) at Target for $49.
So after we got it home and played with him it was time to cut and hack it apart.
1st thing I did was take apart the blaster which I will use later. A lot of it comes apart but removing the screws.
Won't be able to use the helmet. It's way too small, so I will order a rubies 2 piece.
I am starting with the forearms. There is quite a bit to gut out.
I did not realize how long it takes to gut out everything inside! One thing I decided to do was line the inside of the forearms and thighs with white craft foam. This will just make it more comfortable to wear for her.
I then glued inner strips to the forearm using some scrap abs from my TK build and used e6000
That's day 1 and 2. I'm pretty tired already.
I will say that it seems to be a bit more work than my TK build. For one there is way more to trim and sand. And also the plastic is harder to work with than abs. Anyway the good thing is that I don't have to worry about it passing for any kind of approval except for the approval of my daughter which can be a bit tougher than 501st. Lol

I am converting a 48" FO trooper figure into wearable armor for my 6 yr old but need a better helmet. The one with the fighter is too small. Don't need anything expensive as she will out grow it. Any thoughts?

Just bought mine.I'm ready to start!

Any suggestions?
I saw a few at advanced auto but not this exact style. The handle was off center, but was rectangular in shape I I'm pretty sure the same size.

Awesome! I'm excited about this build! Can't be that difficult right? I mean not compared to a TK build?I will send send you some links to a good thread and reference photos. If you cannot locate any of the pieces, let us know and we can point you in the tight direction. I order stuff about every day.

Hey guyes,
So I have a TK ANH stunt. I am ordering a DLT-19 and curious about transforming it into a HWT but not sure what needs to be done or added. Of course a Pauldron (orange)
Dof I have to have the pack? Or is that optional.
Or is it cool for a TK to just have a pauldron and dlt? Just looks cool.
Thoughts?

Cool. You should find lots of troopers in that area to help you out. I am near the Asheville area and I know of several guys in that area as well. If u have any questions feel free to ask.

Yep...and those are pretty good kits! To me they feel a little lighter or thinner plastic than my AM 2.0 but still....really nice kit!
