Worked on the helmet a little bit today. I sprayed it with a couple coats of primer yesterday and then filled a good amount of the pin holes. Then I went about sanding the helmet down and took about 50% of the primer back off again. Now the helmet is super smooth and another couple coats are setting up on the helmet.

Started to cut out the holes in the helmet today. My fingers need a break from all that filing! I used a dremel to rough out the openings and then did the rest with an assortment of small files I then went on to start the "bump" which has been mentioned in the CRL page. Not sure if I want to add any more to it. I am kinda happy with the rough shape of it for the time being, although I am open to opinions. I also started to wet sand the armor pieces to get them ready for paint. Also I forgot to post pictures of the undersuit the other day so here they are. If anyone wants better pictures of the undersuit I would be happy to take them for you.

Looks good to me bud! I wasn't trying to give you a hard time, honest!

The helmet, handplates, belt boxes, and thermal detonator are all rigid fiberglass.
-
That's why I mentioned it lol
-
Sorry, should have mentioned that. I used black and white plastidip, essentially it's just rubber in a can.

Awesome, good to see more people on board for the R1TK train lol. Nice title for your post BTW Following so we can learn from each others progress!

The helmet arrived today and the cast is pretty clean. The greeblies look pretty good too but I will probably change out the mic tips for some from Tony To cut down on the itchiness inherent to fiberglass I lined the helmet with black and the armor pieces that would contact the undersuit with white. Note: Don't be like me, wear gloves. I get excited sometimes and forget my PPE

I sent him a PM here and then we ironed out the details via email. I was number 5 on the run and I believe he is doing 30 kits.

Well BBB day came and in it came one of Jim's Rogue One Stormtrooper Kits. Here are all of the parts laid out, minus the helmet which has yet to arrive. As most of you know it is made from flexible fiberglass but I didn't expect it to be as flexible as it is! And the detail is pretty good too. Needless to say I am excited. I have already done some trimming to fit and will be posting updates on my progress.

I don't have any issue with that. However for the higher levels I think it should be that the E-11 is based off the commercial replica and not a real sterling. The scope is different from the OT version as is the Counter. As well as the other small details. And I am even for having to use the Element surefire clone for level 3. There are some really great write ups on the R1 E-11 blasters subforum and I think it would be a shame to not take from those resources.
-
The regular stormtroopers don't use the E-11B. Just the E-11 with the shorter magazine.
-
Not sure, I think it would be fine to have the standard blasters as part of the entry level CRL. At this point it looks like the ANH armor in it's entirety and blasters will be fine for level one lol

I know the DLT-19 has a flashlight, some have slings, and they don't have the wire around the T-tracks. I can't tell any differences on the T-21 but I could be wrong.
-
Well the regular stormtroopers without the pack appear to carry the E-11, DLT-19 and the T-21. Some of which additionally have slings The stormtroopers with the crystal collection packs are seen carrying E-11s or DLT-19's. I haven't seen any of these 19's with slings, could be wrong though. The crystal collection packs are also accompanied by a pauldron, in the movie there are three colors clearly seen. Those are Orange, White, and Black. But yeah, there is also the Type 4 field pack but that is under the MEPD.

HWT's don't have them I'm not trying to say we should go without them just because there is a scene in the movie where the don't have them. There is just a lot of stuff to be evaluated to determine what should be included, at least for the higher levels of approval.
-
If we are gonna go down the road of every detail being categorized and determined if it will make it's way into the CRL, we might never get around to having a working copy lol. There are just so many little things. I am all for the idea but I would like to get mine approved sometime this year . A couple things I want to add to the discussion is that in the scenes where stormtroopers are doing stunts to where they are being flipped or have a chance to land on their backs, they aren't wearing thermal detonators. A really good shot of this is when they are fighting Chirrut on Jedha. So will we have a "stunt version" where the TD is optional? Also are we going to go into detail as far as pack/pauldron/blaster combos that are acceptable?

Are you talking about the area directly under the lenses not being symmetrical on both eyes?
-
I'm gonna need some clarification on this whole bump thing. I've been staring at the helmets for a while and can't put my finger on what you guys mean. As far as calling out materials in the CRL such as plastic for the hand guards, wouldn't it be better to just say that the rubber hand guards aren't permitted? Makes it easier on people if they want to make their armor out of fiberglass or cast from resin if they want the higher levels of approval.

Rogue One Jedha Patrol Sandtrooper Pack Build

Any progress on this? Looks like it would be a lot easier to transport than the Patrol pack I have lol -
Armoryshop on Etsy is selling the 16 notch cogs for the rear of the armor. A little sharper that the regular armor.
