I just pulled the trigger on this and wanted to see if anyone else ordered this version, what your experiences were, did you have to still do a lot of mods to make it fit, etc.
I'm just a bit worried about how it will fit and what all I may have to mod. Mark reassures me that sizing will be custom to me as much as possible and I don't doubt him, I just wanted
to see what others experienced who actually bought this version.
Let me know your thoughts.
Thanks!

Your storage bin looks awesome....did you just glue the material directly on? Did you put padding as well?

Nice looking blaster for the price!

Damn..that's a good looking helmet! Is the vocoder flat black or semi gloss?
The grey ear pieces are perfect! Those are still hand painted I'm assuming? If so, dang the line is just perfect...wow

Build looks to be coming along good! Armor looks awesome man!

Ah..makes sense. Thanks for the response and helmet looks awesome!

I use Meguilars automotive rubbing compound. Novus polish also works very well
Did you use a buffer or you just polished it by hand? Looks amazing!

I like how you made the lens 'brackets'..awesome!

If you reference the 501st site, you can see the differences, and don't be sorry, that's what this forum and its members are here for.

There are tons of information, builds, tutorials regarding AP armor. Check out the builds section, I've found them to be super helpful and informative.

Awesome..thanks for the reference pic. Yeah I'm not too too big in my midwaist section, I'm a 34in waist but I'm certainly not skinny.
I guess with the extra length from the ab piece even if I trim the kidney piece back to the 22x22 size, I should be ok. It almost defeats the purpose for the kidney piece to have it pre-notched because
you'll have to trim it back anyways...well I guess it only matters if you're looking to get Centurion which I am and it seems like you are as well.
Thanks again!

ah thanks for the reference..that's awesome!

on a side note did you have any issues with the side notches on the kidney plate?

I like what you did with the lenses!..looks very industrial. Where did you say you got the tutorial for that?

I'm surprised all of that fit in such a small box..haha. Great thread so far. I hope to be a future AP owner as well. Good luck!

Mine was a day early - Thank Vader lol
It's always been a build thread lol but that's why I threw "and journey" into the title - and very honestly: having you all along for the ride has just made it that much more epic and less hard of a wait!
Bucket off to you all my fellow AP recruit squad!!!
Couldn't be happier for you. I hope to join you soon!

Really good point. Might be worth picking up some Novus for mine. I want super shiny,
Can't wait to watch how it goes for you! Still waiting for my kit.
Yeah exactly. Not sure I like how matted and almost grey it looks. Although I'm sure that's more screen accurate.

Thanks for the comparison. Crazy the difference in whiteness and glossiness!

After thinking on this, I think we lived more peacefully, without the anxious anticipation...
haha...I think you're right!

Soo excited for you bud! Man, how did we live without 'online tracking updates' before??
I really look forward to your unboxing of all the awesomeness if you decide to do one!

Don't be sorry about upsetting anyone here. From my experience, everyone on this forum has been awesome to me and are always here to provide as much help/education to you as possible.
I have this helmet and can say for certain it's not up to 501st standards. It's a nice helmet, but if 501st acceptance/standards is what's important to you then I would reconsider/return the helmet. It's important you don't open the box or anything at all for them to accept your return.

Thanks Tony! Yeah I'm preparing myself. I actually don't mind the work, just don't think I can do one ground up. My ocd almost killed me with my last armor
