  1. I'll second the kudos for Trooperbay. Michael is just top notch and the customer service at TB can't be beat!
  2. I was trying on my TB flightsuit to check the fit and my wife looked over and said "isn't that hot?". The best response was one I found here on WhiteArmor and it was "Why yes.......yes it is".
  3. Awesome, glad to be of help! Welcome to the FISD my friend! There is so much great information here and this is a great bunch of people. Hit the forums, learn all you can, and don't hesitate to ask questions. Best to you!
  4. Well I can honestly say that I am "a little short for a stormtrooper" as I'm only about 5'8". I'm still struggling with what is defined as the "return edge". I thought that was the part of the armor that "folds over" slightly on the top and bottom of the armor so that there is a slight angle rather than a sharp edge. I could see in the build thread where you were adding an additional 1mm to your cover strips so I think I understand that it's just the "where" do I measure from that's tripping me up. I wish I still lived in Concord I'd grab a BART and stop by and see just how you go from measurement to cut. I'm getting confident in the build techniques it's the fitment that I'm struggling with. Garbage in, garbage out as they say so I know my measurements and cuts have to be perfect. Just want to say thanks for taking the time to answer I really appreciate it! Have a great weekend!
  5. Tony, This is a great thread and I have it set aside along with your TFA build as my main tutorials. If you have the time can you explain how you did the fitment? That stands out as one of the most important steps (for obvious reasons) and I want to make sure I don't mess that up. I'm a firm believer in putting in the time before hand to make my armor the best it can be so I would like to understand this process better. Thanks very much for your time!
  6. It just can't be soon enough for me. My kids love my Hyperfirm E11 but I seriously need some armor to go with it
  7. That looks great. I have an ANH hyperfirm as well can you tell me where you got the scope lens? I'm modifying my E11 and I've been hunting down something I could use for a lens. Thanks!
  8. No apologies necessary we're all here to help each other. The motto is "troopers helping troopers" so whatever we can do to help. So I'm much like you. I ordered Anovos too so as I wait I've been piecing together all the items I need to finish out my TK while I wait on my armor and bucket. I'll try to address what I can and let the more experienced troopers weigh in where needed. 1.) Boots - I went ahead and put my name on the waiting list for TK Boots. I'm not too concerned as I can go with IB if it comes to that. Looking through the forums both types seem to be rated well. The one thing I've learned is that you have to make sure that the top of the boot is high enough to go under you shin armor or problems may arise. 2.)E-11 - I went with a Hyperfirm for my weapon of choice. The reason I did this is that I want the kids to be able to handle the blaster if they want and not worry about it dropping or accidentally bonking someone with it (the bucket is notorious for not having the best field of view). You may want to also look at DoopyDoos as they are very popular. The is a great completion kit available from T-Jay that will make your resin blaster look awesome. You can find it on this thread: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/28444-fs-completion-sets-for-e-11-kits-like-doopydoo%E2%80%99s-full-resin-kit-incl-worldwide-shipping-and-paypal/ I'm not sure but you may be able to use this kit with the Trooperbay and DSP E-11 but I would ask another trooper to be sure 3.)I'm doing most of this on my own to learn more about building. Taking the time to research I've been able to read other troopers stories of what did (and didn't) work for them with their builds. The sales forums have items such as complete rivet kits to latex hand armor sets to neck seals. It's hard to gauge exactly what will be needed to finish out the Anovos set as the only ones released were the TFA TK sets to a few FISD members. Ukswrath has a great TFA Anovos build thread that you can find here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31877-ukswraths-tfa-build-thread-tk-10116/ I'm also found a great list put together by another trooper of all the items needed (recommended for the build) I can't remember the thread but I can send it to you if you want to PM me. This thread is also another great place to start researching: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/6372-index-of-all-tutorials/ 4.) DLT-19 - Yeah I want one of these too but the Hyperfirm is a little out of my price range at the moment. There are some great threads to build your own if you want to give it a try. I'll stick with my E11 for now. 5.) I'll have to pass on the pauldron as I'm doing a straight ANH Stunt or Hero. You can also look through the MEPD boards for the pauldron as that is part of their CRL if you can't find anything here. 6.) If there is one thing I've learned about the bucket is to make it as comfortable as possible. I'm looking at several helmet padding systems mostly used by the US Army to make my bucket as comfortable as possible. Again this is somewhat hard as we don't have the bucket to work with in regards to size and areas for modification. There are several fan and electronic choices out there uskwrath has a pretty popular system for voice/hearing and both evilboy and echo both have fan systems. You can check out their threads in the sales areas. I hope this has been somewhat helpful. I'm still spending time just reading through build threads and pulling out all the nuggets and "following" those threads that are really beneficial. Just select "Follow this Topic" and it will be set aside for you. Best of all is have fun! It looks like we'll be together on the build threads once the armor arrives which can't come soon enough for me. Best to you!
  9. Can someone post a pic if there is on on the FISD board? Those of us who haven't built our armor don't have TK numbers for access to the 501st forums yet. Thanks!
  10. I have a new Lego TK minifigure that I would like to add to this. I don't have a TK number (yet, waiting on my armor) but can I send it to someone to pass it on to her? Many Thanks!
  11. "Bad guys doing good" and "troopers helping troopers"! Bringing joy to folks is why I want to suit up. Seeing the various troops, especially the ones to children and in hospitals, really makes this worth wild and something I want to be part of.
  12. Thanks very much! I'll shoot him a PM. Have a great evening!
  13. Great list! Thank you so much for posting this. It's giving me something to do while I'm in the dreaded armor wait period. Does anyone know where I can find the premade TD clips? Thanks! Peter
