  1. TK-26287 My birthday is on the 26th, my wife’s is on the 28th, and we had been married 7 years while I was making my TK. My simple dedication to our love and marriage, and her support.

  3. Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and comments. Perhaps I should have caveated this, but my intention was certainly not to get plastered while wearing armor. Nonetheless, the risks are certainly there with any level of drinking. I think Aaron's lengthy advice is pretty solid. Breaking the seal and other drunk, rowdy people would probably be the two biggest issues. With that said, would still like to use my armor for certain social events, but I'll use good judgment in terms of the environment (people I know and trust) and level of consumption (keeping it to a "happy buzz"). Thanks!
  4. Forgive the title...I don't mean boozing while actually "trooping" for 501st events/activities, but I'm curious about wanting to enjoy some drinks while in costume elsewhere. e.g. Halloween parties, etc. Ideally it'd be nice to keep the helmet on while doing so. Does anyone have experience with this? I have a friend who dressed as the Stig for one Halloween and re-molded a plastic drinking straw so that he could drink from a cup/bottle without removing his helmet. I figured someone in the 501st would've have already come up with this solution or another one. It just occurred to me that you could make some alternations to a beer helmet, rig it to your bucket then BOOM - solution! That would probably make the costume extra funny too. Thoughts? Experiences? Ideas? Drew
  5. Astyanax, First, great job and a great thread. I'm in the process of doing my own rubies right now and I've already been drawing on your posts for inspiration. Quick question for you going all the way back to #1 - Barrel. What attachment did you use on the dremel to cut the PVC pipe for the inner barrel? I was planning on buying the dremel you recommended from Amazon, but I wasn't sure if you used an attachment that came with it (I didn't see anything that could obviously be used for cutting but I also don't know anything about dremels) or if you bought an additional attachment for that purpose (like a metal cutting wheel). Thanks!
  6. Another random question....what about glue? What's used on rubies or any other gun when piecing it all back together?
  7. AnjelRedemption, As for the wire, I assume it's just some kind of electrical wire or something you can get at a hardware store? What kind of black spray did you use? Do people use anything in particular? Did you use a primer beforehand? Thanks! Bout to start my own rubies project. Drew
  8. kawnr, Mind if I ask why the white and silver primer before black? J/w because this all new to me and I'm about to start the same process with a rubies. Thanks!
