  1. These look promising! They come in Tall and only $30 for tops and bottoms! http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00EF1K42Y/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1445453909&sr=8-1π=SY200_QL40&keywords=tall+compression+pants&dpPl=1&dpID=3124%2BfQT4WL&ref=plSrch
  2. What about length? I'm a tall, thin guy. Technically I would wear a Medium, but at 6'2" I'm concerned it would be too short.
  3. Done and done! Thanks!
  4. Love it!!! Can't wait!
  5. Interesting new detail!! The kill stripes appear to be open!!!
  6. I need an a neck seal and balaclava for my FOTK! I got the arm and leg gaskets from Imperial Gaskets and have boots on order as well! Any recommendations? Also, I'm re-strategizing on my approach to my armor after seeing a real kit up close. I think I'm going to rely on my sculpting abilities rather than a horrendously inaccurate pep file! Hopefully it will produce a better and faster result.
  7. Need some advice from this illustrious community. Dave (Zuko) received one of my buckets today and found a small crack on what appears to be the chin area. Looking for an option to repair/reinforce that area. I suggested he use a small diameter drill bit at the tip of the crack and cut a v-groove along the crack then fill with bondo. Once that had cured, he could reinforce inside with resin, possibly fiberglass as well. What are your thoughts? Thanks
  8. I request patience from those that have sent me PMs. I'm attempting to respond in a timely manner.
  9. I wish I had known that! I used Rustoleum enamel to paint mine and concur! It is the devil! What do you use?Now I need to start figuring out what to add to my own helmet for padding, fans, voice, etc. note: this will never be part of the kit from me! [emoji6]
  10. Didn't take offense and look forward to constructive/positive feedback. Thickness will vary but I'd assume 1/4" approx based on what I recall when I cut the visor out. I try to get the base of the bucket thicker, but have seen wide variation there. Jason actually reinforced his. I added a little bondo in some strategic places.
  11. What would be decals? The "ears" are pretty glossy and appear to form directly into the lens of the goggles. I wouldn't mind having a "rubberized" decal for the trapezoidal shapes and the "ring" around the base. Also, wouldn't mind a rubberized brow, similar to what I've seen on classic TKs.
  12. I don't. These are "rotocast" by hand, so smoothness and thickness will vary wildly. If these are details that are important to a wearer than a more productionized process would be better suited for that. I'm just a guy in my garage with a passion for making stuff and Star Wars!
  13. I definitely tried to focus on some of the features I saw in the suits on display at Celebration. In particular, the ridge under the chin. I also noted the side view seemed to show more curvature on the base.
  14. Just wanted to say thank you for all of the support and encouragement! It has helped me through this project, which I was tempted to quit on many times. I really appreciate all of the positive feedback.
  15. From Star Wars Celebration to now! What a journey! Ignore the yellow tape, allowing the epoxy to cure! I'm super proud of this and thanks for all the support and interest!
  16. Less than 5 lbs. The whole kit, with packing paper and in a 14x14x14 box weights 5lb 4oz.
  17. Can I just say that I love my Airbrush from Harbor Freight and Testor's Enamel paints! I love how the gloss black went down and can't wait to unmask this to see how it looks!!!
  18. Aerator installed. Tried brush painting the black, but plan to airbrush instead!
  19. FYI! I thought sanding was my least favorite part of this process, I was wrong! It's painting! Think I'm gonna need to invest in some good spray equipment!
  20. The first transport is away! - I know it's a rebel line, but it was fitting! [emoji6]
  21. Weekend progress: Visors I followed the methods of Cosplay4UsAll. Check them out. In this hobby, we stand on the shoulders of giants! After about 2 hours, I had a smoke colored visor! Installed (did a little filling and sanding as well)!
  22. Sorry for the lack of status updates. Been out of town on business and haven't had much time to finish off my bucket this weekend. Expect to be done sometime next weekend. Posts will be forthcoming!
