  1. Yeah, I'm a bit anal about details! Thanks for the kudos! Can't wait to finish this and see it complete!
  2. I've had a lot of questions regarding the size of my helmet so figured I should post a pic. My head is 23.5" circumference and it fits me well with room for padding!
  3. First pull is a HUGE success!!! Now I need to get the greebles and the beak done!
  4. Hallelujah!!! Mold is complete and I'm pretty damn pleased with how it looks!
  5. Ha! Thanks. She's not that little anymore, unfortunately!
  6. Tonight's progress! Rookie Mistake #1: don't place your registration keys so high on the helmet. May need to add a 3rd seam down front! Hopefully tomorrow when I open this up and see the interior of the mold, I'm not forced to start this process all over again!
  7. Thanks for the feedback and the offer. I have managed to find some clear PETG that I plan to form into a lens and dye with iDye Poly Black. I'll post pics when I get to that step.
  8. Progress update: I think that's it for the Master Mold! Now to let it cure and fiberglass mother mold tomorrow!
  9. Visor question. The CRL describes it as smokey brown or grey in color. My plan was to create a bubble visor in clear PETG and dye with iDye Poly Black. Would this be acceptable?
  10. OMG! I think I'm finally done!!! Hours of sanding later and I'm super stoked with how this turned out! Now, I just need to mold and cast it! No way am I trooping with this 10lb bucket on my head!
  11. I think this might be my last primer coat!!! Fine sanding tomorrow and I should be ready for casting!!!!
  12. Will the sanding ever end?!?! Still cleaning up the mesh, but I think it's looking much better!
  13. Anyone have a recommendation for materials and vendors for the plastic to create a lens for my bucket?
  14. Tonight's progress! Mesh installed, cheek bumps and sanding!
  15. Primer down so I can start finding the imperfections! Elite First Order TK in the House!
  16. !Wow! Thanks alot! I really appreciate that! This has been a labor of love (and aggravation)! I'd love to be able to get this to pass 501st approval standards and be able to troop in my own hand made TK, so it says alot that everyone has been so positive on my progress thus far!
  17. I plan to cast this. I'm in final sanding phase now!
  18. Figured it was time I throw my hat in the ring for the First Order TK I've been working on. I started this shortly after the new TKs were debuted at Celebration. Decided to tackle this as a Pep build. The file I was working from was okay, but the dimensions were way off. After resin coat was down and initial bondo was started, realized this was gonna take some fine tuning and a LOT of bondo! I got the general shape done and started to apply detailing. To apply the hex mesh, I removed the beak and had to patch the hole. I was able to 3D print a hex mesh in PLA. Finally have started to carve the goggles and have begun clean-up and final detailing. Looking forward to some feedback.
  19. Not trying to knock the kit. Just trying to understand how particular the Legion is, as I'm new to all of this!
