I'll be ordering the 2MB one once my house move is over. I tried the Chinese stuff and it just was more hassle that it was worth and even then it didn't work. The only cheap nasty parts in my build and those where the bits that didn't work, go figure.
PS if you want a decent and bright RGB LED look at the neo pixels. I got 5 for £5.50 ($8-9ish) and will probably only need 1 in the build, maybe 2. Big plus is they are small easy to fit with out those silly drivers, and also you can chain them if you want to.

This post made* me go to Ikea. I got a Grundtal toilet roll holder that, whilst a bit long, should work great. Sadly they didn't do it in a kitchen roll size so I will have to cut it down some how but it has a nice clean look to it.
*okay, I was going anyway.

Seems a little expensive for a box, maybe a 'budget' box could be modified from something cheaper or even built from scratch from a flight case parts suppliers.
Just a suggestion!
It's even worse when you see what they cost in the US
I'm going to look at those semi hard suitcases I think. Flightcase hardware is rather expensive.

I think these are what a lot of us have: ---------
I have a set sat on my desk but haven't got anything to play at a decent volume through them. Though I am pretty sure this is what other have in their builds.

What so you mean by loom? Do you mean heat shrink or braided sleeving? Both are available on eBay for very little!

All the Hovis are some sort of screw in.
Most have a bolt stud on the end of them and you take a washer and a nut to tighten them down.
The screw is the same option, but easier for them to make because they don't have to place a bolt stem in the resin. The only problem I see with looking at this is that that is a small screw head, and the plastic there is notoriously thin. It's better to have a large washer there to help distribute the pressure evenly and not to potentially break the plastic there.
If it's a screw it's not overly hard to remove and add either a metal washer or glue on some extra plastic to add strength though. I'm sure I'm not the only one who will be going over their bucket very carefully on reciept to work out how to mod it!

I'm also considering swapping out the tips for the speaker ones so a screw fitting is good.

Here's the link to the group. Think it's private though so you will need to join to see anything.

It occurs to me now we've all had a pop at them for using power tools that Norm and Frank from tested are reading this thread. Oops. *waves*

The score and snap the trooperbay videos use looks like far less hassle than cutting then grinding. Far less messy too. I've been using it on my blaster parts.

The price increases were planned from day 1 and were designed to fund the prototyping and material purchases etc. it's not that they've added to the price more they have reduced the discount as time has passed.

If anyone happens to know of any video from the panel I'd love to watch it.

I am sure one of the emails said exactly all the above. These are prototypes from prototype bucks and the finals bucks will be cnc machined.Too be honest considering that Anovos are saying that they are a professional company and that they are not in the same league as us "Bootleggers" it surprises me that their tooling looks like it was made in a garage. For a company that is just about to produce thousands of suits of armour I am surprised they are not using aluminium bucks. they look no more professional than any makers tooling I have seen. In fact I'd say mine are neater..... Maybe these are only Prototype tooling? And as Mathias has pointed out the pulls are very soft.....
Just sayin'.....

for those of us who aren't as experienced what's the issue(s) that image shows? And with how that "prototype" helmet looks like in their pictures, I wouldn't get one even if it was $10. It looks softer than an ice-cream cone in July. Basically just a waste of space in my house.
A great picture to illustrate my point: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0346/5761/products/sw-imp-trooper-34.jpg

I do have an order in but I also have had a quote on a local armour. The Anovos is a lot cheaper even after shipping and customs to the UK, then I'd also need the soft parts this kit includes.
However they are showing at sdcc so if I don't like it I'll pull the order and save for the local kit. I'm clearly not the only one thinking this way. Whilst I don't think a mass FISD order pull would kill the company it certainly wouldn't be good and so they must be pretty confident if they are going to show it.

The hand guards are vac formed in the images they sent out. But not seen any gloves up close, best I can see is the header in the email which *might* be rubber.
-
I'm also hoping someone records the panel, I asked them direct and it basically said someone might be we won't be.The pulls for the Shadow Trooper look quite nice as well.
I am sure that I'm not the only one anxiously awaiting pics from SDCC!!

I've started a scratch build but a lot are using doopydoos resin kits if the blaster forums are nothing to go by.What is everyone planning to use for a weapon with this?

I ordered my armour last night using the code that welshchris77 was kind enough to let me use. As a token of appreciation I also have a 10% code available if someone wants $45 off their armour and haven't yet ordered. Code expires just after the deadline so act fast.
PM me if you're interested.Codes now gone to Kredal this morning.

Double post, seems there's a bug in tapatalk.

I'm ordering this evening if you're sure you won't use it for a spare bucket or cap etc.

Just discovered Plano Storage trunks. These look pretty good theres a new one where the lid lifts off or a slightly older one with a hinged side. Both are about £55 on amazon UK.
Anyone have an ideal set of internal measurements needed for an armour bin?
