  1. The bride and groom are in Memphis TN, and I'm in the Detroit area. Long story short we when to school together in Arkansas.

I love the Zahn books, I have them all except for outbound flight.

The Midwest garrison is trying to get him to the area but there is nothing planned yet.

    Thanks agian Paul.

  2. A few more questions:

    1. What kind of soundproofing material did you use?

    2. What size and watt speaker did you use?

    3. What is your amp rated at for output?

I dont know that anyone uses soundproofing materials.

As for speaker size, the ones that are sold on ebay are 20mm .2w speakers, mine are 11/16th .3w speakers. I don't know what size would fit in the chin piece of an FX helmet, but I do know that the speaker from the Radio Shack Recording kit will fit according to several folks in my garrsion.

My Radio Shack personal amp is rated at .5w output, because the 2.5 inch speaker that comes with it is a .5w speaker.

    Good luck.

  3. You forgot Sebastian Shaw who was the unmasked Vader/Anakin at the end of ROTJ.

Now don't I feel like an idiot. :6: I guess I missed one of the obviouse ones coming up with the obscure.

Dancers edited out of my previous post due to my error.

  4. How many people all together played Anakin/Darth Vader? this includes voice actors and anyone that put on the suit.

Hey I just found this thread :D

    1: Jake Lloyd

    2: Hayden Christensen

3: Joss Gower (stunt double Ep II)

4: Daniel Stevens (stunt double Ep II)

    5. Ben Cooke (stunt double Ep III)

    6. David Prowse

    7. James Earl Jones

    8. Bob Anderson (stunt double Ep V & VI)

    9. Mat Lucas (voice of Anakin for Clne Wars)

And who knows how many voice actors there have been for all the video games.

  5. 1. A large number of us in the Georgia Garrison have found that we can fit a pretty good sized speaker behind the black "chin" on the helmet. It works a lot better than the tiny aerator speakers and seems to need a lot less power. Prior to gluing on the black chin piece, drill some small holes behind where it'll sit. Then fit your speaker in right there, facing so it'll make noise out the holes. Mount the black chin piece so that it's not flush up against the helmet (use some small foam pieces or something to give it a small 1/8" gap, so that the sound can get out from behind it). If you then look into getting some professional soundproofing material, you can cover the back side of the speaker, to prevent feedback from having it so close to the microphone. If you do this right, you'll have little to no feedback, a pretty good volume right at head level, and an extra way to keep your helmet securely in one place. If you're in an FX helmet bobblehead, that extra chin padding really helps keep your helmet from bouncing around.

Just keep in mind that this only works with FX helmets. All others have the chin piece molded on.

  6. FWIW, the Legion TD requirements are under review and I'm quite certain the bar will be raised to include dirt among other things.

When the Legion changes it's requirments do they effect everyone or just new members. I know there were some issues about Rubies boxed Vaders made it in even though that doesn't meet the standards. But once they were approved they were allowed to stay in.

  7. I'm not sure what the "Radio Shack listening device" is. Can you post a link.

    As to your questions.

1 & 2: Depends on whre you want your speakers located. If you want them mounted in the helmet you will have to go with small aerator speakers, or aerator speakers and a chin speaker. Keep in mind that helmet mounted speakers aren't as loud because of their small size.

If you don't mind having them else where yo can mount larger speakers in your chest armor, in an ammo poutch, etc... with worrying about feedback.

    3. Most every setup I've seen are active (aways on) especially if your on a budget.

Here is a website with some nice ideas:

  8. My FX kit isn't perfectly white. It has just a slight yellow tint in the plastic that was used. I am concerned that, if I replace my helmet, my head will be a glowing white and my armor will look off.

If the yellowing is just on the outside of the armor you could use turtle wax rubbing compuond to take off the top layer of abs them polish it back up with Novus. If it's inside and out you'd have to paint your amor.

Although in the email I got from Kevin he notes that you may have to paint hte helmet to match anyway.

  9. Hiya

I'm trying to decide whether to go for canvas or white leather - the canvas is proving hard to find, but then again so is the leather - argh! I don't want a canvas that is too yellowy that's my problem, I'm a bit picky.....

Can anyone help with suppliers for either of these? Thanks B)

    Rache

Tandy leather carries stock 3" leather, the white dye, and sealer for a reasonable price. http://www.tandyleather.com/
