  1. With the help of a few garrison mates I've got my armor done for 501st submission. It still needs a few more tweaks before it's deployment ready.

Keep in mind the belt and drop boxes are temporally attached. The canvas for my belt is still in the mail.

Still not sure what to do (if anything) with the helmet and armor not being a color match. They are both ABS but as we all know ABS can come in many shades.

    ------------

  2. Actually, I know that AP was producing armor w/a cheaper plastic & the kit w/shipping was going for around the same price as FX. I do not know if he is still producing the kits w/the PVC plastic or if it was a 1 time attempt but if you're considering a change of armor you may want to investigate.

That project never made it off the ground. I know alot of people were looking forward to it.

They both look good but I might try the second one, they ship internationally :)

Just a heads up, the second one is only on a 26 inch bolt, but if you go with a lighter weight thats heavier than dickblick you can get 60 inches. The first one is on a 72 inch bolt.

    EDIT:

I eneded up ordering this one, it's the same weight as the extra extra heavy from DickBlick:

    ------------

If you order is under $10 you can get $2 econo shipping. If I went with one a little heavier it would have cost $9.50 to ship it.

Dick Blick is $13/yard and charges $8 to ship the exact same thing.

  4. Well I got some oops today, it's naptha based not acetone. It just made the semi-dry glue sticky all over again.

Thanks to my wife reading parenting magazine Q&A I got the solution. Hand lotion..................who would of thought. I put some lotion on my hands and lightly rubed it over the velco adhesive and let it dry. Worked like a charm.

  5. As for the paint, Kevin personally recommended me to Krylon Fusion gloss white spray paint. That's what I used, and although it does not actually seem to be very "glossy" at all (hence the need for further polish), it's a pretty good match for the color of my FX armor. Additionally, his advice is to wait for the paint to dry completely before applying the decals, which I guess takes almost a week to be safe.

Just a suggestion. If Krylon H2O white is a color match to the Fusion, go with the H2O. It has a much glossier finish to the point it's reflective.

An example of the finish can be seen here: http://www.sithtrainingtemple.com/phpBB2/v...opic.php?t=1558
