  1. Your son is the luckiest kid on earth... Are you going to paint the brow black or do anything to make it "thicker"?
  2. Seconded. AP is puts out superb kits and they work really well for smaller troopers.
  3. Yeah I messaged him about that a few days ago, I'd really love to see an all-encompassing system out of someone. Fans, voice, and audio put into one, easy to install unit would be amazing, I'm surprised nobody has done it yet. What kit do you currently have?
  4. I've always loved Move Along, I think that's why I like the arch so much... But I see what you're getting at My girlfriend would murder me in my sleep if I ended up having both a Stunt and a Sandy... but then again she has something like 20 lolita dresses so I may have enough leverage to convince her. Almost bought that AM 2.0 kit that was in the "for sale" section, but luckily someone snagged it before I succumbed to my nerd-dom.... this hobby is dangerous, man.... Haven't even started trimming and I'm already thinking about other costumes and builds... I'm going to have to relinquish my credit card to the lady for safekeeping after I finish purchasing everything. Oh yeah, almost forgot. Here's a running list of things I already have or are being shipped: - AP Kit from Mark, untrimmed - E-11 from Felice (doopydoos w/real parts) - Hyperfirm E-11 (on the way) - Hyperfirm DLT-19 (on my wall) - Boots (imperialboots.com) - Holster from Gazmosis (on the way) - Lexan scissors (on the way) And here's what I still have to get: - E6000 - clamps - magnets - industrial velcro - strapping brackets/snaps/rivets/hardware etc. (still undecided on strapping system and snaps vs. brackets) - Dremel (could probably borrow my friend's) - sandpaper (probably plenty of this at my friend's wood shop) - undersuit - (got a shirt from a guy on here but unfortunately I haven't been lifting and my arms don't fill out the biceps.... the curse of being 5'11" and 130lbs is real....) - canvas belt - gloves/latex handplates - x-acto blades - helmet electronics: fan system (probably Echo's), functional Hovi mic tips (ukswrath), iComm/Rom/Fx - neckseal (making this with help from the lady) Ok.... now that I'm looking at this it seems like I have quite a few more things to get before even start thinking about assembling or even trimming - pretty overwhelming. Most of the spendier stuff is out of the way, but I still have a LONG way to go. If there's anything that I forgot then please let me know, I would really appreciate it
  5. Honestly I kind of like how it looks... The cap is thin enough that when I put on the brow trim it flattens, but it leaves this nice little arch that I'm falling in love with more and more by the day. Eventually I'll probably fix it, but right now I'm terrified of the thought of applying heat to my armor :-P Also, I know it kind of looks like it in the pictures, but there is no crease on the cap where it's bent so if I eventually do decide to flatten it I'll have no issues. 6. Hey guys, This will be a WIP for my ANH Stunt AP kit. I took most of the pictures that are scattered throughout the RPF, FISD, and on my local garrison's forum and combined them to make this post; I really need to start organizing my stuff better... So, when my big brown (medium) box arrived it was in pretty bad shape: Luckily the only thing that was really messed up was the cap: However when I put the bucket together to see how bad the damage actually was... Not too shabby. Definitely a unique looking bucket, but hey, that's where the beauty lies, right? Really starting to appreciate the little intricacies with TK armor. Ears will need some work: But other than that I think it looks pretty good. I'll have to disassemble to plastidip the interior but for now, I'm happy enough to throw some decals on: I'm really impressed with the decals. Very easy to mold to the contour of the bucket; I will remove these once I begin my centurion application and replace them with paint. Also got some boots from imperialboots.com (super solid for the price and availability): Just a small scratch on the side that has been covered with leather paint: Also... I got an E-11 from Germany (with real parts!) but it too has felt the wrath of USPS So, needless to say, I have some work to do. I will most likely be fixing the E-11 to use as a display piece as I have a Hyperfirm on the way and a DLT-19 hanging in my room. More to follow!
  7. ESB seems to be scarce, I wish there were more... But I'm in your boat, I'm itching for a second kit and I haven't even started assembling mine lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I got a DLT-19 from them (not directly but from someone in Iowa) and I love it so much that I got an E-11 from them too. I get that the Doopy kits are definitely sharper detail-wise and are a lot cheaper, but I have a Doopy that will probably go on display as most of the parts are real and it feels a little overbalanced with the resin body and brass scope. Can't go wrong with Hyperfirm! Also check out THG props, they make a composite E-11 that is "unbreakable", I've checked them out in person and they're SUPER top notch.
  9. I'd love to see how that fantastic garter system of yours fits together, it looks extremely adjustable and really comfy. If you ever decide to do a run I'd definitely be interested
  10. siiiiiiiiiiiiick I will probably follow suit with the drop boxes. Looking good dude!
  11. I will probably get an extra pair to have on hand just in case, for what they're going for and now having seen the quality they are a complete and total steal. Everyone at work thought they looked really funny and I ended up explaining about 20 times that they are for a costume and that they haven't seen anything yet (My BBB is being delivered to the office on Monday, which will probably result in me leaving early giggling like a schoolgirl). If there is one very very VERY small improvement I would make to the boots it would be adding a few cm of width and depth to accommodate insoles, I thought I had narrow feet but was proven wrong yesterday - my right pinky toe is kind of sore. Other than that though, Francois is absolutely killing it.
  12. Hey guys, Just wanted to post a quick review of the TK boots offered by imperialboots.com (Pics to come later, forgot to snap a few before I left for work. Sorry!) I got my boots this morning and wasted no time in unboxing them to make sure they fit (I was actually a bit late to work because I wanted to walk around in them for a bit to get a good sense of how comfortable they would be for long troops. I consider myself an expert in this field as I did marching band for 4 years in high school - I can't even begin to describe how important good footwear is, especially when you're carrying 20 pounds of instrument and walking in a particular fashion. I ended up with double ingrown toenails on both of my big toes that were so bad that they required surgery, so I'm extremely picky when it comes to shoes. Anyways, on to the boots. I was expecting thicker leather, but then again I've never owned a pair of boots so I can't really compare them to anything. What I will say is that these fit me better than I expected. The opening for your foot seems incredibly narrow at first, but once you slip into them everything makes sense. I'm really, really skinny and the only thing that's ever held me back from buying this style of boot is the fear that the opening around the ankle would be vast chasm of emptiness. Not the case with these, my friends. The ankle support PERFECTLY hugs the contour of my ankle so if you're slender built like me and are worried about the same thing, fear not. As far as comfort goes, these aren't bad. I will definitely need some thin insoles and will probably opt for thinner dress socks (I intentionally got mine a half size smaller so that they would definitely be snug) but overall, I don't foresee any problems as of yet. I'm really surprised with how well these are constructed, and I'm really looking forward to putting some mileage on them. The ONLY thing that was wrong with my pair was a very minute scuff on the left boot, but it looks like someone did a really great job of beautifying it and I had to really squint and adjust the light to see it. I figure they'll get scuffed up anyways so it's not a huge deal. Overall, I'd say these are a steal for what they're going for. Definitely a good alternative to the other boots that are available and they're packaged very lovingly. I will probably be getting another pair at some point and wouldn't hesitate buying any of their other fantastic footwear. Now, the wait for the big brown box continues.... ETA 1 week!
  13. SO jealous! I remember playing with that thing in the bathtub as a little kid, probably the most durable toy I ever owned. As for AP, I got a response from Mark about my tracking number last week on Thursday, so he's still there. I think he may have been busy preparing the most current kits for shipping (myself and another oregonian got kits from him) so I would imagine he'll get back to you asap
  14. That is the most adorable thermal detonator I've ever seen
  15. The return edges on your kidney shims look awesome I'm pretty sure I will have to do the opposite with my kidney as I'm pretty slender.
  16. IS THAT A LOST WORLD T-REX TOY?!?!?! My inner child is so jealous if it is.
  17. I would say depending on how narrow your feet are go up one half size from what you normally wear and get some insoles to fill everything out. I just ordered a pair of Imperial Boots from imperialboots.com so I can't say for sure how accurate the sizing is (I have extremely narrow feet so I stayed with my regular size), but I know for a fact you're going to want some extra cushion in there for long days of trooping Also, TK Boots aren't currently available unfortunately... I would check out imperialboots.com as an alternative, but definitely ask to be put on a mailing list for TK Boots as they are the tried and true standard for Stormtrooper footwear
  18. Holy crap. Thats one of the best resin scopes I've ever seen , I LOVE the lens from the monocular, that reddish amber tint is sooooooo fresh
  19. Out of stock... again.... What is missing from the pipe kit? t tracks, counter, scope rail, scope, and d ring?
  20. I really like those! With a mock neck top this would look so good. Are you planning on attaching a bib? Also, have any pics of you wearing them?
  21. Yeah man, again just a small observation. I'm really impressed with how well your armor fits together, the cover strips are literally perfect in every way. Definitely using your armor as inspiration for mine. How tall are you if you don't mind me asking? I'm 5'10", 140 and 30" waist (so, pretty dainty really) and I went with AP because apparently the pull is better for smaller dudes... the way everything fits you in that mock up photo blows my mind
  22. Just my 2 cents, as I noticed that you're going for a pretty symmetrical feel for everything... might also want to consider moving that rivet on the right side of the right thigh over just a TEENSY bit so that the middle of the pack and the seam/cover strip line up. I don't know how much tension is on that thing already or if you'd be worried about losing structural integrity by putting another hole right next to the existing one (and it looks AWESOME regardless), just something worth mentioning imo. Wondering if that's what you did with the sniper plate... That velcro patch on the ammo pack and bottom of the thigh thing is a really good idea, I'll probably end up stealing that from you
  23. Waiting on my AP kit too... this thread makes my mouth water every time I come back. Did you get the bucket trimmed by Mark? Looking really good man, that thigh piece COMMANDS respect. Insane bucket too, your painting skills are over 9000
  24. This is nothing short of amazing (pun intended) You sir, win parenting How in the WORLD are you going to do the bucket?!
