  1. I received my under suit the other day and they are perfect. They fit great and the logos will be easy to conceal. The only logos are the tiny ones you see at the wrist and the ankle. I am actually going to order another set as a backup... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006SRT17W?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006SRT1WC?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00
  2. I went back to the drawing board, searched and searched Amazon and came up with these. The logos are minimal and should be easily concealed with black marker. With shipping they were $36. Anyone familiar with this brand? Opinions???? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006SRT17W?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006SRT1WC?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00 Thanks Bob

  5. Hey all, I have been a motorcycle rider for a very long time and I have owned a lot of Alpinestars gear from jackets to gloves to boots, etc... I have never worn their Tech Layers compression gear though. As with most Alpinestarts gear, they are expensive. I have generally found their products to be well made. I am looking at the Summer Tech Performance shirt and pants. http://www.alpinestars.com/road/tech-layers [Update 03/10/2018: It appears that this style is no longer available] The logos would be fairly easy to hide, the neck seal should hide the one on the shirt and the ab plate will hide the one on the pants. A black marker should make them even less obvious. Just wanted to see if anyone out there has tried them. If so, what do you think for trooping? Thanks Bob

  7. Not sure myself but I am sure someone with more experience than I will chime in with suggestions. In the meantime you can always browse the EIB and Centurion submissions in the Advanced Tactics Section... http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/113-advanced-tactics/ The submissions show the maker and generally the height of the applicant. You might be able to get a sense of what builder(s) trend for the taller guys... Hope that helps. Bob
  8. Well, I worked on the legs tonight. The left one at least I still need to trim the edge seams, will do that when I do the fitting. I also think I need to refine the returns a little more, will do that during the fitting as well. I was a little worried about the length of the thighs but I think they will be ok... Let me know what you all think. Until next weekend... Bob
  9. I have been getting ahead of myself looking at TFA build threads....hopefully soon
  10. Started working on building my ABS scrap pile tonight Hard to believe all that is just from the arms. I am pretty much done for the night. Hands are sore from the scissors but it was fun and I am feeling much more confident... I will be removing the return edges on the wrist end of the forearms later. I will also trim the seam edges when I do the fitting. I am pretty happy with the progress so far, haven't screwed anything up yet I will move on to the legs next weekend. Thanks for looking. Let me know what you guys think... Bob
  11. Thanks everyone for the input, much appreciated! Saving the helmet for last definitely makes more sense now. Between the teeth, the lens openings, the ear covers there is definitely a lot of intricate trimming on the helmet. Will get started trimming the arms this weekend and work my way down from there... Between now and then I am going to go back and review build threads... Thanks again! Bob
  12. Brown box made it across the pond, thanks Paul!... Felt like opening presents on Christmas morning Already starting to panic a bit, I am sure I will have a lot of questions! I will be getting started this weekend with the helmet. This is probably going to be quite a slow build compared to most build threads I have seen. I am in the last semester of my AAS degree and will be continuing on for a BS in Computer Science. Right now I am in the midst of a Senior Project for my AAS as well as two other courses. I also still have two kids at home, one in High School and the other in College and I spend quite a bit of time with them between school and hobbies. My son is working on a Scout Trooper from SC. My daughter, who refuses to join the Empire, is working on Jaina Solo My plan is to update this thread weekly. Stay tuned........ Bob
  13. Brown box is in transit....unboxing post soon
  14. Nice 3rd Gen VFR Just sold my 4th Gen recently. Partly funded my TM armor purchase
  15. John ships the Rom/FX with a balloon that you use to protect it from moisture....
  16. I am only 5'9" but I was about 220 at my heaviest. Got down to about 210 by giving up soda last year. I have high blood pressure and take medication for it so it was a health issue for me. Another motivating factor for me was that my father passed away at 52 from a heart attack. I will be 52 this year and I want to stick around for a while and see the kids starting their own lives. I have found myself thinking about it a lot this year and it was a big motivator for me to drop the weight. Don't try and do it all with exercise, you cannot overcome a bad diet with exercise...just leads to frustration. I tell everyone who will listen about MyFitnessPal Seriously, I do NOT think I could have lost what I did without it. Check it out! http://www.myfitnesspal.com Bob
  17. Just an update on my diet and fitness plan. Actually hit my initial goal of 180lbs. I too was on vacation recently as is probably evident by the chart below My daughter had her 19th birthday and I had to have some of that cake, probably too much of that cake It was also a bit difficult to keep up the fitness. I have gotten back on track though. I still have a little ways to go, my goal is now 170lbs which I believe is where I would like to be. Just ordered my TM armor the other day and the brown box should arrive in 3-4 weeks.
  18. Placed my order yesterday with Paul (Troopermaster). Will be anxiously awaiting the brown box. Planning to do this build with EIB and Centurion in mind. I know I will need lots of help to get there... This is going to be a slow build as I am also helping my son with his Biker Scout and my daughter with Jaina Solo I am still picking up pieces here and there in preparation for the build. Just picked up a Husky bin. Thinking I might do some customizing on it while I wait for the brown box to arrive I also picked up a Hyperfirm E-11. I need to add a D-ring and I think I am going to do some work on the weathering... I have a pair of IB TK Boots on the way. Lucky enough to be the 300th customer and got a free pair...Woo Hoo More to come....
  19. MechaPumpkin, My bad then, I was assuming you were getting flooded with instant notification emails. Bob
  20. His concern is that his inbox is full of irrelevant posts. Seems changing his own settings for his followed content to a daily or weekly digest is what he is looking for...
  21. Seems to me that would also lock out members who may have something substantive to contribute to these threads. I get your concern, especially if you are watching threads from several different forums. Your inbox can get full of irrelevant replies. How about simply changing the notification settings for your watched threads to give you a daily or even weekly digest rather than an instant email for every single reply?
  22. I just picked up the Husky from Home Depot for $64... Still gathering tools and supplies for my build...
  23. Right there with you Gon Solo, I have been waiting weeks for IB to respond to emails.
  24. Cashew, I gave up Soda about a year ago. I lost about 7 pounds over the past year just giving up soda, I was around 210 back then. I drink water most of the time but I also LOVE Original V8 juice and I have the occasional Lipton Diet Citrus Green Tea. I had to radically change my diet, I eat 5-6 much smaller meals throughout the day. My weakness was pasta and bread. I have mostly replaced sandwich bread with wraps using Corn Tortillas but I still do have the occasional sandwich with Whole Grain Wheat bread. I have acquired an addiction to Dannon Light and Fit Greek Yogurts and have those every day for protein For me this is all still a big experiment, especially trying to vary my healthy choices so I don't wind up having the same thing every day. Bob
  25. Cashew, I know what you mean, two steps forward and one step back. My wife keeps telling me to stop weighing myself every day. Can't help it, I am a data guy, I need numbers Looks like you have made a lot of progress yourself. As long as the overall trend keeps going down, the spikes don't bother me.
