Oops, my mistake... (Heavy Weapons Trooper)
-
I think you should be just fine with the nickel finish, Chris, but don't forget you will be handling them extensively while attaching them to the nylon/Velcro initially, as well as every time you put your armor on.
Perhaps the stainless may be the way to go, depending on the severity of your allergies, and overkill is not the first word that pops into mind when one comes loose during a troop, LOL.
-
Welcome, Gary, glad to have you aboard! Just remember these three little words... research, patience, research, and like Andrew said, "Ask lots of questions"! Most of all have fun with it!
-
I used the 2 inch, Jonathan, but only for the torso pieces. (see photo). I did use the double snap method for the shoulder bell where it attaches to the white elastic chest/back connection, but I used the 1 inch black elastic, putting them lengthwise instead of side by side like the others. I have enough 2 inch nylon left over for 1 full build if you would like it, (free, I'll even pay postage). Just PM me if you are interested. Hope this helps!

Congrats on starting your build thread, Jeff! Once you get that armor approved, you should come over to Makaze territory for a troop to show it off!
-
Definitely, Chris. Good call from Jay about the scuffing on the boots, especially since you are going for HWT.
-
I am sure it will be fine, Paul, no worries.
-
I'm sure someone here will be able to help you out, Barry, but if all else fails you could actually take it to Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. and the person in the hardware dept. would probably be more than happy to hook you up with the correct size(s).
-
Not sure if this will be approved in the near future, Pedro, but that will depend solely on the "powers that be". I'll agree with you that it really is a sharp looking TK, but the name Shock Trooper may get a bit confusing, as it is also the other name for the present Heavy Weapons Troopers. Plus, there are 2 other factors I can think of... are there any clear, accurate, close-up screen shots of the pack? And that DLT-19 has certainly been heavily modded. This would definitely make a cool build if there were more details.

Way to go, Hans, and welcome to the Centurion ranks, sir!

I'm still trying to do the math, but I wonder how many years of subsisting soley on ramen noodles it would take to save up a quarter million dollars for that Rebel fleet trooper helmet. Wish me luck....

Welcome to the world of white armor, Jefferson! Looks like you got some great advice here already, and you hit the nail on the head when you said research. There is an endless supply of information and help whenever you need it here, so take full advantage of it, and all the best to you on your TK journey!

Unfortunately AM, like most reputable, approvable armorers, does not offer the kits pre-made, but there are some that do, like RS. It is always suggested that you do it yourself though for several reasons, Timothy... The main one is that you know that it will fit perfectly when complete. Also, down the road, if it ever needs repairs, you will be confident enough to do it. Yes, it may seem a bit daunting, but with the help of the tutorials and build threads you can find here, (along with unlimited assistance from FISD members), it can be something you will be proud to wear once you are done.
Not sure what area you are in, but there may be a local Garrison you can get in touch with and perhaps find someone to help you out in person. Many Garrisons also hold "armor parties", where help in building is offered to new members. You can check this link to find one..http://www.501st.com/members/displayUnits.php#garrisons Hope this helps!

I (and many others) got to Centurion using his regular one, so you are quite safe!

If you are looking for a quality neck seal, look up Darman and shoot him a PM. Great product/price/customer service! You can get them with a Velcro or zipper fastener.
-
Absolutely! The first photo is from my Centurion application. The second ones show some modifications I made after adding Tony's (ukswrath) awesome background TK chatter audio system. I mounted the speaker inside the actual "speaker" box, covered it with mesh, and made a small box to go on the side to hold the components.

Welcome, Michael, and great to hear you are going for HWT, (we can always use more in the ranks)! Have you checked out the HWT pack build threads yet? There are a lot of great ones listed here:http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/45-heavy-weapons-trooper/ I used two of the best as a reference, (ukswrath and Templar726) and sort of combined them into one. All the best on your HWT journey, and if you have any questions about anything, let us know!

Excellent suggestion by Vern!!

If you could post a list of exactly what items you are looking for, we could help to steer you in the right direction, no problem!

Welcome to the FISD, Keith! The best place to find out all the basic information you will need is here, http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/38-getting-started-read-this-first/. One you order your armor, you will have some time to get all the other things you will need, like an undersuit, blaster, holster, etc. I suggest checking out some of the build threads as well, to give you an idea of what putting together a kit entails.. (It's not as hard as you might think, but it does take time and patience). The key here is research, and lots of it! You can find the answer to most any question you can think of here in one place or another, and you are certainly welcome (and encouraged) to ask about something you can't find. Hope this helps!
-
Always glad to hear of a new HWT joining the ranks, Wayne! For my pack,, I did a mash-up of ukswrath's and Templar 726's fantastic builds. If I can be of any help, just PM me, and have a blast building it!
-
It can be done, I suppose, but not without hours and hours of work. Also, it would never get you approved at any level, even basic.

Welcome to the wonderful world of white armor, Derek... glad to have you aboard!

Welcome, Rev! First, if you are interested in joining the 501st, (and we hope you are), I would definitely steer well clear of stormtroopershop. If you absolutely must have it pre-made, I would take a look here, http://www.rspropmasters.com/product/complete-stormtrooper-commission/. Is it more expensive? Yes, but it is basically approvable right out of the box. I would take Eric's advice and seriously think about doing it yourself, though... It takes some time, of course, but like he mentioned, there are multiple build threads available here for shorter Troopers, and literally hundreds of folks here more than willing to help you out. You can take a look here as well,http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/if you haven't already, . All the best to you on your TK journey, Rev.
