  1. did you put foam in your forearms? i noticed yours are pretty big too and i have one that wont stop flying around on my set
  2. Minor update today, i had some kind of fever kick in last night, i think it broke but i still didn't want to be in the cold basement to long today I ran out of Snaps...again, but was able to finish the back side snaps, only have enough female snaps to make the elastic for the kidney/stomach, so i'll need more for the back to kidney and various spots After that i decided to try on the thighs and shins again after the trim. much more maneuverability, though still not enough to do much more then walk and have a 70-ish degree angle bend, though i assume thats normal? I'm tempted to shorten the shins a inch to see if that will help. definitely need to find a way to hold them up, i've seen belt systems so i might try and make one, since i'm to short on funds to buy one Who needs Arms with Legs like these? -Mettaton
  3. yeah the shins still overlap at the moment, i'll have to take off the strips and trim some more to fix that. i'll get back to that after the snap system and belt are done. still need to find a pipe to use for the TD as well
  4. Not as much work today as i'd like, freezing down in the basement as the roommate doesn't want me building in the living room which makes since because i'm using the dremel more then i should. First off i replaced the black shoulder straps with white, and added the shoulder straps in making my "shirt" right after that i attached some black elastic to the shoulders, one thing that always bugged me about some stormtroopers was the shoulders flying everywhere so i hope to stop that. Attached the stomach buttons, might come back and repaint these later After the shirt area and some butt/kidney parts i ran out of snaps, i plan to head out and catch some at a late night store after posting this. i tried to start on the belt but only got as far as removing the extra plastic and cut the corners. honestly the belt is my last big scare on this build since i don't think i have anything that can cut a hole safely in the canvas, and i dont have a great experience with rivets so far more of a report then progress the shins came out alright, i still need to redo the left one for centurion as there is still some overlap Advise/Criticism always welcome, especially on the belt this time.
  5. thanks scott, i'll make some more adjustments to the shins after the strips are finished gluing. this makes alot more sense and the blue i used was Model Master French blue so i hope its just the lighting.
  6. yeah i plan to replace those tomorrow though the spare ABS sheets he gave were to think for most of the snaps to stay down so i've actually been using the big chucks i shaved off early on i placed some snaps on the tops of the shoulder bells and inside of the biceps, i realise now i possibly should have went with velcro since i'm about to run out of snaps and still have alot to go. though i'm hoping to make a run to the store tomorrow and hope they have the right kind
  7. Thank you uk for your very in depth responce, i spent most of the day trying to fix some of those issues, heres what i've done today. A simple but important moment for me was placing the shoulder straps, unfortunately i think the left side slid a little while drying so i might re-do it easily the scariest thing i've done so far is shorten down the thighs, it had to be done but was still nerviness the entire time though i think it came out pretty well, i know there is that small gap in the left thigh but i'm hoping to make some of that GOOP stuff i've read in other threads to patch that up. as for the Ammo plate i used the heat gun a bit more and i got it as close i could, i still had to glue the other side but the gaps in between are much smaller now i think, next up following the reference pictures i removed and replaced some velcro, cut a little more excess plastic off and laid down the back shin cover strips. they are meant mostly for show right? I'm probly going to have to trim the shins down a little aswell but i'll see after i test fit with the new thighs. Last for the day before hunger overtook me i placed some snaps on the tops of the shoulder bells and inside of the biceps, i realize now i possibly should have went with velcro since i'm about to run out of snaps and still have alot to go. though i'm hoping to make a run to the store tomorrow and hope they have the right kind last for the night i painted the chest boxes, my hand shook alot so they aren't perfect but i think they'll do Tonight i'm hoping to cut out the drop boxes and tomorrow i'm hoping to get the "shirt" area complete, linking shoulders, biceps and chest/back with snaps. after that i'll probably be out of snaps and need to get more again any advice/criticism is welcome. i honestly dont know if i can reach Centurion with my poor skills but one thing i have is more free time so i'll go back and do it over and over if i have too.
  8. Shock and Horror today as i started on some more snaps but some harsh realizations hit me after trying on most of the completed pictures I orginally made a black strap for the top but i forgot it needs to be white for Centurion, which is fine since i think i can still use them for side kindey to back The issue is even so i think with my frame the abs straps will overlap really hard or i can make the new elastic longer but i dont want the back to want to low I added Velcro to the back of the shins and the left leg went perfectly however the right leg wont seem to get locked down right Any idea for this? more velcro or place it sideways? After testing walking around with the shins everything was fine, a little high to have a complete bend but ok, i tried them with the thighs and some other pieces that were done, i definitely need to trim these and probably the shins a little aswell. i wish i had better pictures my but friend only took two before he started taking pictures of my dog instead i'm thinking of taking atleast 1 inch from the tops of the Thighs and bottom of the Shins. i had to waddle up the stairs just to get those pictures. Any advice is welcome, i'll try cutting them tommorow. for now i'll work on cutting more abs bits for snaps and try painting the kidney boxes.
  9. i've started some basic snaps for my chest and back, i've been reading tony barnett (TK300)'s site and i'm trying to follow his example atleast on the chest/back/shoulder areas Front Back sorry if the size is too big i dont know how to resize, and my phone is garbage
  10. Ok so i'd like to say i've made some progress today although not pretty, i've glue'd the sniper plate on to the shin and attached the ammo pack to the thigh Although my problem begins with the ammo pack, this was my first time using rivets and the were different then i expected, the inner side went fine, but of course the outter side refused to stay in, after trying three rivets and failed, i'm hoping i can simply E6000 it into place aside from those two i've started some basic snaps for my chest and back, i've been reading tony barnett (TK300)'s site and i'm trying to follow his example atleast on the chest/back/shoulder areas Front Back I have a bit of extra free time now that my job has lightened up so i'm hoping to get this finished in time for Yamacon on the 4th. sounds crazy but i'm ready to see this to the end. only thing i dont have is the pipe for the Thermal Det, i've been told i can go to Lowes and they can cut the pipe for me, though i dont know for sure. i ordered gloves and rubber hand plates from Sonnenschein but need to confirm if she sent them. paid for clips from Evilboy, Belt from TKittell and got my Neckseal and Holster from Darman. i hope thats everything. my wallet wasn't ready
  11. i'm just about ready for the snap phase of my build and i was curious though dont some people cut off the cod piece from the kindey to make it easier to sit/reposition w/e?
  12. justjoseph63 mind posting your front strapping too? i'm thinking of mimicking this for my armor
  13. finally time for the weekend, here is almost the last of the cover strips, only one left is the back side of the thigh thats being glued on the front side now. kinda scared where to go from here, elastics? torso? i should probly do the knee ammo pack and sniper plate first
  14. some progress today, still getting over a depression but forcing myself to get done since i know i want to be ready for the movie or even a event yeah i think they are i messured right but i guess it slide when i started scoring and came out bigger then expected
  15. 5'7 is really normal or at least close enough that no one cares. my height depresses me all the time but nothing you can really do about it and it wont stop me from at least trying to build
  16. yeah i plan to sand them down once they are on, just wanted to get them out of the way, forgive my work area i dont really have room or space for this project but i'm trying to make due. Not a whole lot of progress, finally get a day off and had some serious stomach pain, but afterward i made some strips and did both biceps and tried a shin Also i should have asked earlier but do people do people use cover strips on both the outside and inside where they meet or just outside? i'd like the added durablity but worried i dont have enough spare plastic for strips
  17. what is the height of the Son and yourself in those? they are crazy good. maybe i should have went with you instead of ATA only 5'4 myself
  18. I've begun making strips with the box cutter and snap, though its tougher it sounded to me and started with the forearms, hows this? believe it or not i am hoping to atleast get close to centurion even though my thread has been very unprofessional so far, i'm sorry for that.
  19. Any good alternative method to making cover strips? i was preparing to make some but i heard its best to do them with a table saw and i dont have one, the sheet abs i was given is to thick to just store and snap. i can try to cut with lexan scissors but i expect it would come out an uneven mess
  20. nice job makes me want to make my Anovos kit a TD and leave my ATA Shiny
  21. love your build so far, is that just regular painters masking tape? i have a new helmet i plan to plasti-dip and last time my masking tape leaked into the teeth even with multiple layers as for your faceplate paint. Mineral Spirits?
  22. alright thanks to the list i went ahead and ordered magnets, velcro 15x2 (hope its enough easily the most expensive),white 2 inch elastic for chest to backplate i think, and 1 inch elastic for shoulder bells another white velcro for legs now i just have to figure how to trim the thighs
  23. Ok just thought i'd ask to make sure but would it be fine if i just buy 2 inch elastics and just cut them down to the smaller sizes later? i bought 5 yards of inch black and pretty sure i dont need that much
  24. nice i'm starting my thigh trimming now and will try similar cuts
