  1. I need to grab a couple of figures to complete the set. Ten bucks is good. Last I saw at Wal-Mart they had them for 11 and change with a rollback sign attached to them.
  2. Just in case anyone is wondering I purchased one of Mark's untrimmed kits and I was actually surprised at how much of the flashing he actually removes from a lot of the pieces. I had everything rough cut in a couple of hours. I'm not gonna get all Facebook and make it seem like it's running barefooted through a field of daisies. It's still kinda over whelming as all but I saved a couple hundred bucks and got it quicker. I'm taking my time but hurrying up with the build and I'm happy cause the support on this site is great. I'm working it every night, sometimes 30 mins, sometimes 3-4 hours but everyday I look at it coming together and give it a little smirk! At the end of day much like my new friend CommradeDave can attest, our armor will have self inflicted battle wounds that we will be able to share all the stories with our fellow mates and encourage them to go the same route. I'm sure like Tony said, you'll probably need to do some tweeks anyhow on a trimmed out version. Might as well go for the gusto go untrimmed, give Mark some breathing room and let Brattie get closer to getting hers [emoji14] poor lady, she's being a great trooper if you don't know her check out her thread, it's pretty funny! Another new friend airborne trooper mentioned to me recently to not get hung up on perfect, movie armor never was (he didn't really say it like that but that's how I took it) and that alone has allowed me to take it easy on myself and push on! Lastly as the father of a new generation of trooper just mentioned, grab it and jump in. You can do it!! Or not, either way, we will still have your back! 3. Ok, so I feel like the forearms need extra love that I am not willing to give them right now so I am starting from the bottom up. So tonight I work on the shins!
  4. Years back when I was looking for a "unique" online name that wasn't my classic first name first letter of last name and year born I was looking around my office trying to find something that would inspire me. As a fan of sci-fi I started to collect wind up robots. When I looked at my desk this little red robot had the markings on it's chest and I ran with it. I added the bot to the end to make it long enough for most sites. Zv288bot aka jorgem72 aka Jorge (preferred to be pronounced George).
  5. If I'm paying to fly you down it ain't for some painting, you're slappin this whole bad boy together for me! [emoji14] Sent from my LGLS740 using Tapatalk
  6. Thanks guys. The frown, ears and vocoder are painted by yours truly, the rest are Mark's awesome stickers! Sent from my LGLS740 using Tapatalk
  7. Alrighty now... With the exception on wiring for fans and installing the hard hat liner I'm calling this done. Some bat's can fly in and out of the back side ears but hey, they keep mosquitoes away. Now the difficult part, the rest. Sent from my LGLS740 using Tapatalk
  8. Ahahahahahaaaaa! I don't mind shaky I just mind painting.... anything... Sent from my LGLS740 using Tapatalk
  9. Here are my ear rank stripes. I'm seriously thinking I am using the stickers on the Ab buttons! Sent from my LGLS740 using Tapatalk
  10. Here is the view from inside. Sent from my LGLS740 using Tapatalk
  11. I just now noticed how different both of these are... It's all good, just didn't really look until I painted (only cause I didn't get decals [emoji14]) them. Onward! Sent from my LGLS740 using Tapatalk
  12. Actually I forgot about the vocoder part so really it's more than 40%! Now I am thinking more like 47.7% hand painted. [emoji14] Bro, your armor looks so cool and shiny in your pics. Totally not giving yourself enough credit. Also I had my first boo boo last night. When I was going to rough cut the second ear for whatever reason I grabbed the ear that I already trimmed and cut a line across the top of the ear. I'm gonna ABS paste it or maybe just leave it. 13. I do have to paint the ears and I did the teeth! That's 40% hand painted no? Sent from my LGLS740 using Tapatalk
  14. I just used the decals. I hate to paint so I went the easy route [emoji14]. Sent from my LGLS740 using Tapatalk
  15. Awesome! Thank you!! Sent from my LGLS740 using Tapatalk
  16. Whoop whoop! Congrats on all levels, the rest day and the end in site! I need to get my butt in gear and put some serious effort into getting mine going. I need to focus!
  17. I also fitted a bracket and switch for my fans. Still need to do all the wiring. I saw this exact bracket and switch somewhere on this site and I wish I could give credit to the person who did it but at this point I have no idea where I saw it. Anyhow I really like the way it came out. Sent from my LGLS740 using Tapatalk
  18. Well only one ear sanded and fitted. It's Mother's Day so I spent the day with the wife and kids. Time well spent. Here are some pics. Sent from my LGLS740 using Tapatalk
  19. Here is a picture. I've sold my ATA helmet so I don't have the two to compare but here is the most recent S trim I purchased from Trooperbay. Sent from my LGLS740 using Tapatalk
  20. Hahaaaa... love this thread. What will you do with your time when your armor arrives? Will we be missing out on this kind of stuff? Sent from my LGLS740 using Tapatalk
  21. Got everything but the ears done today. I'll tackle those tomorrow with fan installs and then I stamp this done. The lens and frown mesh are trooperbay. I also purchased an S gasket from him but it's way smaller than the one I had gotten with my previous ATA helmet. Has anyone had an issues with the size? It seems way small. 22. When all is said and done the experience you will have gained will be a treasure trove from the rest of us! Troop on!
  23. Looking good my friend, the armor not the video... I have no idea how to embed video either so I am of no help!
  24. Lookie lookie here... Snaps on sale at Tandy. Today was my lucky day!!! Sent from my LGLS740 using Tapatalk
