you are suposed to align from the wrist end, and make your finishing strips long enough to cover the end of the elbow.
I disagree...

Haven't been on FISD too much lately... Ive been putting together a Tie Pilot Reserve (approved) and building a Tusken. This is the mask. I also finished the inner robe and the breather. Looking forward to being able to sit a troop! Urkurkurrrkk!

No return edge at the wrist or ankles. All other return edges are trimmed (or not) for comfort of the wearer. Look at pictures in the Centurion request thread for some great references.

I meant mass produced as in a handful at a time. They look really good. Have they been approved yet? What's happening w your DdLM themed project?

align at the elbow and trim flush at the wrist. the wrist has no return edge anyway so trimming there is fine.
also... here is a little guide to posting pics on the forum.

Does this mean that someone who had originally passed on this kit should go ahead and order one?

Since patches were specifically called out, I can't help but assume this is all about the topic I started letting people know they were in the works. If that was something I wasn't supposed to do, then I apologize. Moderators, feel free to lock or delete that thread. Here is the link. I'll simply post the actual thread when they're ready.

Congrats to you my friend!! Lots of late nights working together to get this costume ready to troop... I'm sorry the blaster tripped you up, I wish I had more advice on the conversion but I've not attempted one yet. If I may throw out a little history... Tommy is the only official member of the Mando Mercs in our area and happened to attend one of our 501st/Rebel Legion events. He made fast friends with lots of us and I think that night decided that he had to become a member of the 501st. The brotherhood and comraderie is like no other, he saw that and wanted to be a part of it. Welcome to the EIB ranks brother!AWESOME!! Thank you so much, I am truly honored!
I would like to thank my friend and mentor Clint Marzec, cm325i for all his help, time and patience with this build! This is all thanks to you brother, you are the best!

Hey Tommy great looking gun sir. My only concern is maybe the placement of the counter, IMO I think it should be moved back a tad, about 1/2" maybe. Steve may think otherwise let's see what he has to say before making any changes.
I guess it's a good sign that we're only discussing the blaster at this point. Must mean the armor is looking fantastic! If we reeeealy want to get nit picky, there are some painting details we could address, but overall this is a great E11 build. Tommy, did you take WIP photos or have a build thread anywhere?

Looking good! You will need to drill some vent holes in your blaster though on the lower left side.
This must have been a recent update or rewording. The CRL I printed off the site last summer didn't specify this, only suggested it. At least that's how I interpreted it.
"If using the Hasbro E11 toy blaster, it is modified to have the correct number of T-tracks (6 total), with a lower row of open vent holes on the magazine housing side.
- This is accomplished by covering the pre-existing rows of holes with T-tracks, then grinding off the lower integrated T-track on the magazine housing side, and drilling a new row of holes in its place. "
but according to the statement above, he is correct Tommy. We'll need to fix the blaster.

are you mass producing these for sale?
-
Is that a good price?
yes, it's a comparable price. also it's happening now and not backordered...
-
For everyone that ordered the Anovos EpIV TK armor, there's a new boot run happening right now! Don't wait! Get your boots now. Otherwise, you'll get stuck w a shiny new kit and no boots.
-
All weapons are optional and do not need to be present in your 501st submission photos. The holster however is required per the CRL. As for trooping w a DLT and an E11... I'd do it if I had a DLT.

The best perk so far has been all the awesome people I've met and new friends I've made.

Very cool! Great looking troopers! (and droids and wookie I guess)

check out these shoulders from an approved Centurion build...

I don't think I'll be able to get 501st membership.
You absolutely can get 501st membership. Good advice above, definitely get in contact with some local-ish troopers. Also keep in mind that every little bit helps as far as participation and you'll only be committed to one event a year. Welcome and good luck!

Sounds like so much fun!

Not sure about the corrective eyewear issues. I've seen troopers use sports prescription glasses or affix extra glasses inside the helmet. What I can definitely tell you is that if anyone shorter than 3 feet tall gets closer than 2 feet away from you, you will not be able to see them.

Looks like it's only gone up $100. $450 for the full kit (minus boots and blaster) Revenge of the 5th special!
-
I've been using Gorilla Gloves from Home Depot (or Lowes, I forget). The handplates stay on better for me and they can breathe. and they're about the same cost.
-
After the promo, the price of the untrimmed kit will be $700, which is in line with ATA and MTk kits.
Although ATA and MTK won't include a finished helmet and accessories. $700 will still be a good deal.

This, I agree with. Carl was asking about lining up the forearm halves, not cover strips.
