1. Yup! Another Anovos build.

Not sure how much detail I'll get into on this one. I've done this a couple of times so I'm pretty confident going in. This kit is for my Fiancé and I plan to go straight for Expert Infantry. I'll post a side by side helmet shot w my MTK bucket. Haven't seen one on those yet. Anywhoo...

Based off other photos seen so far, I'm definitely going to tear apart the belt and redo w correct number of Chicago screws and a TKittle belt. Probably take off all the oversprayed paint and decals from the bucket for correct hand painting. Definitely going to tear out everything from inside the bucket and redo that. Tossing all the Velcro and going with elastic and snaps for everything.

    More to come!

  2. Thanks Todd, I'll contact you via email.

Also, thanks Clint for the tip. Unfortunately, I'm allergic to FB, so that creates its own problems as well, as I'm sure I'm not the only one. I will see what I can do about that.

I hear ya on that! I only have a FB account because of my garrison/squad communication on it.

  3. - I do not necessarily plan on going for EIB or Centurion level acceptance, but will keep the criteria in mind and attempt to build to the best standard I can.

Looking forward to the build. I'd reconsider this tho... the small details to go from basic approval to Expert Infantry are very minimal. Just a suggestion however...

  4. Once you have the one rivet joining the cap and back, add a second one in the valley of the cheek tube where it will be covered by the ear cover. This will prevent the helmet from shifting and creaking.

Be careful with hot glue, too much or too hot will distort the plastic.

Agreed, however the really little craft glue guns from Walmart don't really get that hot and use the small glue sticks. Definitely don't use a big industrial hot glue gun. A tube of silicon glue could work as well.

  5. I'm a Mac, not a PC... but I need to get a laptop for our teenager for Christmas and I'm not familiar with what's out there. It will be used primarily for homework, streaming movies and music, digital art, photography and general web browsing. Any suggestions or places to start would be helpful. I don't want to walk into Best Buy and ask because they'll try to sell me something expensive that we don't need. Features like touch screens or other "bling" could be cool, but not necessary. Will also be getting her a Wacom tablet to go with it.

    Thanks Tech Troopers!!
