  1. Thanks everyone:) and my kit didn't come with a lug so there indeed is an empty space on the barrel:( and the pistol grip shouldn't have weathering?
  2. Weathered with a dremel bit. Literally chipped the paint off.. looks pretty authentic. A tip for painting that i did that turned out really well you can see it on the close up of "hammer moves" i painted the whole gun with the textured hammered gloss black paint. after it was dry i later dry brushed flat black all over the gun, resulting in a wear/weathered look. aaannnndddd Done hammer moves Thank you for all who helped out with this build by your input! cheers! on to centurion! -Kyle
  3. alright so no pictures this time, however i have the blaster almost complete. i put in dials for the counter (hollowed it out, took apart a clicker (6 digit) put plexi over it cut the hole in abs put the abs over the plexy and painted! also found the 4mm screws, attached the hammer and spring capped the back. all that is left is to mount the counter when its dry, place the wires and weather it a bit ill post final pictures here soon
  4. okay so the blaster is in paint again but i re weathered the scope with brass in stead of copper and put some flat black in the mix too! got the crayon in there also. so here is the final product for the scope also i have the power cylendars done! love these results as well!! put the copper wire in )) lastly need to do the counter. then really im pretty much done i need to find 4mm bolt and screws for the ends there.. i looked today but i cant find them that small :/
  5. alllrriigghhhttt! bigger update here and also a step back wards i attached the folding stock with a pen tube in the middle after hollowing the original stock holder. put the original pins back in place and popped the caps on. so its not going anywhere ( i did not photograph this process, alot was going on) i took this from gazmosis thread. he goes more in depth however in the process i was just so strong i ripped the pistol grip off the tube.. so i had to re drill, screw, glue it back on and seal the sides (pink stuff). so it has to go back into paint. which is okay! also i weathered the scope. may be a little much so i may cover some up. however i love it still ) still need to find a white crayon for the text
  6. haha dude you cant learn unless you screw up. a wise man told me that once and it makes sense. and also. you cant rush perfection take your time.. its better to have quality than quantity. and there is always a fix for something:) you can do it! go slow and be careful and plus. were always here to help out!
  7. Alright! little bit of an update here. paint paint paint after that dries its time to install my stock that came in today!!! i recommend it to anyone building this kit.. its durable. heavy and well its 100% functional got the power cylinders all painted and ready for mods. looked better than i thought it would after paint (getting 4mm bolt and nut sets tomorrow as well as nylon string for the back) (also putting wire in from the tips to the middle) and my most anxious piece!! the scope. its done and im so in love with it. all that's left is weathering, detail painting, making the bracket for the counter and making the text on top white. here are some close to final pictures. side: Back: front: all the way though more updates to come. sadly this build is coming to a close
  8. folding stock will arrive today! updates: Scope paint! closest i could find to brass E11 moved away form the Styrofoam.. didnt like paint The counter: I wasnt able to find the actual part so i looked at others build threads to see what they did. so i ordered a cheap 6 digit counter that i will install when it comes in i sanded down the mold to make a flat surface i will eventually vut abs plastic to hold the glass and counters in place also added some vinyl screws to the sides to show more realism.. So these Power cylinders.. i didnt like the mold so i needed to find something to use for the middle and easy to drill through.. and i didnt want to go get fuses or whatever people use for the actual technical part. so i looked around and this is what i found.. tip of a plastic paint brush i cut three (most power cylinders have 2 or 3) I wanted them raised up a tad from the bottom so i used some plastic as a "platform" waiting until the paint is done to put the wire in but this is what i will use.. (drill the very tips and into the mold below) also going to the hard ware store after class to grab bolts for the tips of the power tubes. update for now. more coming soon!
  9. Haha thanks! And yeaahhhhhh I caught that a little while ago. The styrafom was getting droopy Stearling apex buttstock will be in today!!!! Also last night I ordered a cheap 6 digit counter for the hengsler since I could not find the actual part. So I'll mod the resin Updates soon!
  10. Thanks for the answer I'll get on those mods
  11. Thanks very much! And well I know my parents hate paint spray.. Soooooo I used the box. Its a little tight and the box decays with the paint but it works! Thanks a lot! More progress soon:)
  12. by the way.. are the power cylinders and counter necessary? id love to keep it off if possible.. ive seen some screen shots of the movies and in some i dont see them on some E11s.
  13. update! so i wanted to make it even more realistic.. so cross hairs.. how do i do that. easy! thread and needle! never seen this done before so i think im the first and results.. love them and time for primer! cheers!
  14. Yeah the ears still look big.. (the bottom of the ears, not where the grey portion would be) as far as the crease is concerned im not sure what to do with that.. sand it down and put puddy in it? i dont think application will be an issue with them how they are, however youll know youre you in a crowd. try your best to cut them down super glad to see images!!! back on a roll! shins and everything look great!
  15. I do photography to pay the bills so the shots are taken with a Nikon d3 and 50mm 1.4 And I will be posting more images as I go:) thanks for all the words!
  16. I removed them and painted the inside black:) keeping them out til all paint is done! Thanks guys!!) cheapest way to go I'd say best results
  17. and they are in rear front side (perfect fit ) Time for paint
  18. Today's updates.. more drill drill drill carefully that is... figured to get inside i would have to cut the scope in half.. so i did drilled out the rest.. ( i wanted to hollow out as much as i could to be able to see through the scope. So time for fitting... fits like a charm. the rear sight slipped right in.. but i am 1/8th ish of an inch off.. very happy with progress this far.. i hollowed out some more of the rear sight. however i didnt photograph it yet. ill make it flush with the rear however. also i ordered an actual sterling folding stock for this thing! almost time for paint and weathering. i have some hammered spray paint cheers!
  19. Eh no big deal its not glued in yet. good catch. I'll apply paint first then glue it
  20. Made some progress today! Drill drill drill went to a bigger size.. 7/16th i think... started cutting up the binoculars.. as you can see there is JUST enough room to slide this in... closer... it will take super careful hollowing out.. front seems to work well.. just need to get to the glass somehow.. chop! just have to hollow it out a bit more and it should slip right in boom! more updates tomorrow!! cheers! thoughts? thanks!
  21. eh don't have a dead line, you don't want to rush perfection glad everything worked out tho!!!! :smiley-sw013: annnnd this is my 300th post
  22. Glad to hear something is being made! I will look into that option too, however here is my progress so far on my blaster to catch everyone up.. I have the hammer/ spring installed! i replaced the screw on the handle itself (the selector screw i believe) (you can see it in the shot below) The trigger is installed with a spring. H6 sized hex screws used on the barrel and handle, as will as a metal sight tip, still having to shave an angle into it however. (i also hollowed out the sides on the front sight so its not closed in) Now... for the scope! i looked at my options and i saw these bad boys at wall mart for $12. so i bought them.. the front and rear glass sizes are perfect! i also purchased some of the hollowing drill bits in all sizes so i can drill out the scope with care and properly I was considering cutting off the ends of both the scope and the binoculars and swap parts. then i could looks the "telescope blah blah blah" on the resin.. havent looked to much on it yet.. however i will today before work There is my latest updates. will be posting more progress as i go.
