  1. I'm just poking my nose around to different venders.. Seeing my options.. Also starsaber, can you provide a link to MTK? I haven't heard of it Thanks!
  2. The thing is mixed reviews.. Everyone has their own opinion.. And I've seen armor sets that he has made with further talking to him.. The reason I'm holding back from buying it is the name. CTM I'm afraid if bought I won't be able to get in the garrison just because of CTM. I've spoken to other GMLS and they have accepted this armor.. So why can't my garrison simply because its a known recast? Technically.. Everything is recast from something.. I Dont understand the bias 501st has against some good quality makers of armor :/ why stick to a list of 5 makers (minimum selection 'theres got to be more then 5 armor makers') that only the FISD approves? Not being harsh.. Just asking.
  3. The thing that bothers me.. I'm emailing him personally trying to get as much info out of him as I can.. He took the molding process from the older caster only a year ago.. So he may make them better. He is part of a garrison in Arizona, his armor his GML approves for EIB status.. He may put more detail in than the precious caster..

  5. Yeah CTM PROPS is the name he provided also.. Thanks for all the input!
  6. My apologise for the double post.. (Dont know how to move threads.) Figured it belonged here.. Not in hard armor discussions.
  7. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=121303538339 Thoughts? I know to avoid eBay, but I thought I'd check FISD with this.
  8. ------------ This link is an armor seller I found on eBay.. I know I was told to avoid eBay, but I went poking anyway.. He says he is a member of 501st since 2007 and has had a lot of these suits made 501st EIB and centurion. I was posting to get ideas of what everyone else thought. It seemed like a really nice set of armor with the difference in shoulder bells, left arm and left leg being slightly different then the other as he mentioned in the description. Also made of the same materials used by most 501st being 2mm think white ABS. Vacuum forms himself by molds given to him from a retired armor maker.. Seems promising.. Thoughts??
  9. Mathias, When i purchased this suit, it came with the helmet that was submitted with the most recent photos. I figured also that the EFX was more appropriate (the first round), but didnt care for the look and it seemed to be a bit big with the build of my body. I tore the helmet apart and rebuilt it with the proper materials (screws, brow, decals, lenses etc) So with the improvements of the armor i figured the bucket rebuild would be better off anyway. So i got rid of my EFX and bought an ICOMM. I would rather not go to the extent of selling and buying another suit, however after building one, i could put another together no problem and wouldnt mind the work/craft of another build. But i am only 22 in college; needing to pay for school soon, and dont have the cash to throw around.. I was told to buy a set of ATA.. emailed the man and he said 520 bucks.. which if i can sell this set to someone i could have the budget for another set. so its not out of the question.. (do you know aside from ataworks anyone who has a set?) (6-7 month wait currently) I do know there is two Indiana garrisons. I havent applied to the northern darkness, but im sure my photos have floated over to him also. I shot him an email though.. but really i want to know with this set, is it of any hope that i can get it in with the Legion? make some more improvements? i just dont know where they would be, i was only told some things were a little 'Off' i feel ive been more than dedicated. haha
  10. Still wanting my TK #

  11. So Mathias, you said it was up to my GML and he turned me down, in other words the "100%" he said that you said wasnt correct?
  12. Guys! I'm not here to offend anyone, im just trying to get as many angles as i can on this to TRY to make it in here, simply quoting the email so people could get a better understanding of my situation.. im slightly confused to what is going on to be honest. Mathias, did you review my armor set through the application? also: its up for me to decide what? If i could be told the problem areas, maybe i could work on getting them fixed.. feel free to PM me.. -Kyle
  13. Im not going to post the entire email, but quote: "We are going to have to reject this costume for 501st approval. I spent a good deal of time with the Detachment Leader discussing your application. As I told you, there were some items on your armor that are just a little 'off'. Most of these issues come from the fact that you have a 'recast' kit. I wanted to make sure I wasn't judging your suit too harshly, but the Detachment Leader was 100% against approving this, as were some other GML's who I showed the pics to. Whenever I reject an applicant, I always make sure to get a 2nd and 3rd opinion, in case I'm wrong. It is no single issue, but a bunch of small ones, all arising from the quality of the recast. The guy who made this for you likely bought a legit kit, and then copied the molds. We frown on that b/c it results in poor quality armor and is essentially theft of someone's hard work. It also makes you, the buyer, a victim of buying bad TK armor."
  14. Rostam, i will tell you i was turned down because this was a recast build. Make sure you know what you are buying so you will not make the same mistake i did. avoid ebay and purchace wisely. hit this link if you dont have armor already. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/
  15. Ams yes those fans would work fine! They look very similar to mine. Grab a 9 volt, 9 volt connecter wire a on off circuit switch and yay!!
  16. the diagrams are great! putting my words into pictures, just get computer component fans! these are the ones inside my bucket! hope it helps a little!!
  17. I just submitted these to my Garrison Leader but i was wondering what everyone else would think:) thanks! thoughts? Kyle
  18. Cut the white connector off also, strip the ends off the wire and attach to a 9 volt.
  19. I'm not sure that will cycle enough air through the helmet.. The yellow wire isn't nessisary to spin the motor in the fan.. Connect the red to positive black to negative and boom! What I did was I ran to Fry's electronics, and bought two little computer fans, they are about a half an inch tall or so, attached to two 9 volts with a switch in the line roughly 10 bucks a set possibly.. makes a huge difference since computer fans are made to circulate air.. Try your netbook fan and see what you get.. Again the yellow isn't nessisary as on my set up I too ignored the yellow wire! Let me know!
  20. Okay! I'll get them over to you shortly!
  21. Trying to get the little things i have left to do done!

  22. UPDATE: trimmed the access off, working on the sides now. Thoughts?
