  1. Right. Well, I called my girlfriend with the crotchy request and she accepted. I can't imagine what I'd do if I was single. "Mom, I need you to help me... with something." Hahah anyways I got a lot more done. Here are the progress pics so far: Exterior left side Exterior right side Interior right side Interior left side Been dressed like this all morning haha And, kind of hard to see, is the strapping I have so far. Had to take out the kidney and ab to attach the rivets and snaps. Tomorrow full test fit! Ok, one concern. Where does the butt plate sit on your butt? Should the top line of the butt be where the top of your pants are, or a little higher? I might have to adjust my shoulder strap a little. Hopefully not.
  2. So... it requires someone willing to touch your crotch. Hmmm this suit presents new and interesting challenges every step of the way haha
  3. Interesting query: How does one go about determining how long the crotch to butt strap should be? I'm sure it's different for everybody and I'm a fairly small dude. I know the cod and butt shouldn't be touching each other but what's the way to go about that?
  4. Here's today's progress: Made plastic snap plates for shoulder bridges. Made elastic shoulder bridges Lined up plates for their 24 hour gluing Got the bells sorted (right vs left) and glued in the little strap that I will put a snap in tomorrow when its dry/cured Next, I think I'll install side rivets and glue in the snap plates that correspond with them. Oh and butt snaps.
  5. Bam! Keep in mind it all lines up when pulled together Based on this picture: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/uploads/gallery/album_16/gallery_12157_16_24454.jpg
  6. Trying to shoot for this (the bottom image): http://i1057.photobucket.com/albums/t395/misterd46/ATA%20Armour/TorsoCloseups.jpg Input?
  7. I'm fairly certain I made the measurements correct and bent the plastic right up to the lines I made. If anything, they're 1 to 2 mm too small.
  8. Nope. It came with the pliers and a little red ring to set the male pieces. What to do? Hammer it?
  9. Progress: Crotch strap changed to be fixed by the split rivet. Loose rivet no longer a problem Kidney corners sanded with my fancy sandpaper that just came in the mail. No need for polish: Next concern: I read in this thread http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/23186-my-2mm-ata-build/page-3 that the kidney and ab/cod needs to meet up at the top of my kidney corner. Do I round the end up to meet it, or what? Here's mine:
  10. Problem with that is I only have enough split rivets to do the job. No extras. Can this be bent back out? I'll attempt to bend the arms back to get it out... grr. ANyways, check my kidney corners before sanding! Off to pry my crotch apart! Meanwhile, what to do about this? Snap tool cant reach deep enough in my butt haha
  11. Here's my progress from after the knee belt yesterday. My concern is with this stupid split rivet. I can't get the arms to bend down all the way. It makes it loose as you can see in the pictures. Any split rivet advice? Also, as far as rivets goes, the ones I put in my knee didn't get as tight as I would have liked. I couldn't fit the hammmer into the small opening to get a good bang, so I tried to use pliers, but it still didn't clamp all the way down. Advice? Now onto making the little kidney cutouts. Wish me luck!
  12. This is a great approach. I put the little parts off til the end and I wished I would have knocked those out first like you are doing!
  13. Boiled up my knee belt. Turned out great! Here's my pics:
  14. Sweet! Mad scientist TK commencing tonight! Muahahahaaa... (evil villain laugh) Thank you Mathias!
  15. Ok, I am interested in this approach. How did you go about it? Submerge the whole thing? How long and how hot was it to handle?
  16. Yeah, I'm looking at the gallery. It looks like the original material was much more flexible and it sits flush all the way around the thigh. Mine is this hard abs and it doesn't want to fit around without a huge gap. Maybe more heat bending with the blow dryer?
  17. Yes, thank you! I was just getting to that part of my build and wasn't sure how much to cut off.
  18. Regarding the ATA thigh pack specifically, does it need to be cut down on either side or should I just round the corners and match up the top corner with the molded bottom corner of the thigh? Anyone out there with a finished, approved ATA kit; can you please post a top, bottom, and side shots of your right thigh ammo pack, please? I really want to see what the gap between the pack and the armor is like
  19. Oh boy, I've been going over those like you wouldn't believe!
  20. Edit: I got them from a member here! Here's the thread with pictures for reference! http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/19041-fs-accurate-rivets-for-your-tktd/?hl=%2Bright+%2Bthigh
  21. So, I'm looking at the CRLs for hero and it occurs to me; why is there no image of the following requirement? For level three certification (if applicable): The thigh ammo belt shall be connected by brads/split rivets only – but not by standard rivets. The bottom corners of the thigh ammo belt shall be rounded off. Here's the picture showing how these two should appear: http://www.501st.com/mw501/images/f/f6/TK_anh_stunt_thighs.jpeg and I'm like: I'm having areally hard time with this dang ammo belt. I'm afraid to drill an incorrect hole!
  22. I'm kind of really excited right now. My arms are done! What do you think? I need to know where these swoops are, or if I have any swoops to begin with. Does ATA have swoops? I've never typed the word 'swoops' so many times at once, it feels weird. What's with all this talk about swoops? For level three certification (if applicable): If your shoulder bells have the swoop, the left shoulder bell †swoop†should point forward toward the chest, and the right shoulder bell â€swoop†should point backwards toward the back plate.
  23. Anyone have directions to the dimensions for this?
  24. As far as the cutout, I have the heat sealing iron, so I can do it. Is there a tutorial or some good resource to do that? Also, is there some kind of tutorial or rescource for wrangling the knee ammo pack. I feel like it needs to be trimmed on both sides. It seems a bit long. EDIT: I found a picture and I'm putting it here so I can find it easily http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/Billhag/TK%20Armour%20Help/Kidneycutouts01_zpsa28e1167.jpg
