  1. Oops i screwed up i guess... I thought i was using original armour as reference, I used these pictures: Being a beginner i also looked at the CRL closely: My goal was to make it look more or less like in the pictures above...it seemed close to level,(much like Mathias' picture, where it sits on a table without topping) so i tried that.... Just as Steve i noticed that there was no way (on my suit) i could get it to look that way, with the rivets on the same height... So i took Steve's pictures as inspiration and blueprint (since he had tackled this before) Just wondering...is this a centurion crushing mistake?
  2. In the photo's provided by Tom the belt is attached close to horizontal...first i tried the rivets at the same height but then the belt wouldnt be horizontal..so i took Steve's pictures as reference.
  3. Got the ammo box done... And put a brad in the crotch... If i got time i will start the sniper plate this weekend.
  4. Nice reference pics! I obviously mounted the ammo pack to high...I'll trim and see if i can attach it in a lower position...Thanks for the filling options too! Off to my local hardware-store... Btw: i got the sds blaster...if i fix a d-ring(which i ordered from sonneschein, together with handguards) to the back...will that be sufficient for eib? I guess i'm almost there aren't I? I first have to go for eib before trying for centurion right?
  5. Thanks for the feedback guys! Guess i'll start redoing the ammo pack...The holes in the ammo pack (crooked) were premade by AA... problem is i now got some small holes in my armor...what is the best way to close these again? Fill them up with something? @Sean...i'll take small steps, so first up is expert infantry...i'll do centurion later..
  6. Thanks guys! In the pictures above the shoulder bridges were fastened with velcro, which i didnt like, so i ripped it off and this is how it's now:
  7. Hi Troops! I recently got my suit approved! Thanks to all here at FISD for the feedback and tutorials! Now offcourse the next step is the road to EIB/Centurion Am i doing it right?..Am i forgetting things? I need some feedback again.. A big thanks to Steve (Sparrow) for his tips!! So here we go with the pictures... Approval pics: (these where taken before the modifications..) And now the modifications.... Shoulders: Belt: Crotch and Butt: Side snap: Here's a point of concern...the ammo belt: And just for entertainment.... a TM vs Sds....I want TM armor!!!! Cheers! edit* TD:

  10. Got reply from my GML...no ABS belts allowed! Thanks! question answered!
  11. @vern....Thanks for the chigago screws option!! hadn't thought about them (i was planning on using snaps) but they look like they can get the job done nicely! On ordering from andrew again...his costumer service is fine, as is his armor .... but after reading all about him (his claims) on these forums i'm not so sure i want to sponser him any further.... @mark...i sent my GML mail...thanks!
  12. That's what i plan to do but before i try that ( its rivited, i dont want to destroy the ammo belt, and i have no idea how to remove the rivets) i want to know if i can go for 501st basic approval with the belt as it is... I dont have a photobucket account (yet) , so cant show any photo's (yet) edit* 'The belt proper is ABS with rivets on three spots where the ammo belt is attached
  13. Hi guys/girls I got my kit from SDS, but dear Andrew already fixed the ammo belt to the belt proper. Now i already bought a canvas belt but i was just wondering....Is it ok to have an ABS belt for basic 501st acceptance? (is this a sort of "vinyl" as spoken of in the CRL?) Cheers from Holland!
  14. I have to agree, cause i just found out... Where i come from (Holland) its forbidden by law to have anything remotely similair to a gun... I knew it was forbidden to carry around something thats similair to a "real" gun..but here we go: it's also forbidden to have a blaster from an ancient galaxy far far away... I should have known...silly me... but here is what happened to me..I ordered my TK blaster from the UK( not thinking about law)...being part of the European Union it doesn't get checked 100%..So i got it in the mail no problem....Now i'm also builing a TB on the side, so i ordered a TB blaster from the US... I should have gotten it in the mail 3 days ago, but its still @ customs, and frankly i'm freaking out thinking what's to come...
  15. Still trying...$250
  16. Hi Bennett, This is coming from a newbie (almost finished my first build)so..........anyway, I'm with Jim...looking good! Chest doesn't look to wide to me..once you decided on what way to attach it (to the ab or back) it i'll sit even better. Btw i have seen people use various means of attaching the torso...with velcro/straps/screen accurate binders/etc...I got the chest and back velcroed (newbie eh)and its pretty snug.. Just wondering..do your forearms move? They seem a bit wide.. In the second picture your right forearm covers a bit of your handplate..can you move your wrist like that..? I think maybe you are right about trimming them just a little... All in all: Good job, ! keep it up!
  17. Yes i would..$245? pm sent Paul..
  18. bump..Is this auction still open?
  19. I just ordered a pair of these...guess i'll be trimming soon also..they ARE HUGE!
