  1. I've done this for one of my skits for my Japanese class at my university. Suited up at the car, walked to class and after class was done, decided to walk around some more. It was fun definitely. Surprised tons of people but it's best to do so if you have friends with you. That way it's a bit more natural and they can help watch out for any people who might do crazy things to you.
  2. Depends if I were to make another TK and what kind of armor it is... I may have to cut the part off again. I'm just too short and if I leave it the way it is, the chest plate would cover up the ab buttons but that's just me.
  3. I cut mine's for the fact that the original ab plate is too long for me.
  4. This was what I wanted when I was a kid. Actual TK armor... not the cheap fabric Halloween costumes. Your boy is super lucky.
  5. Wow that's just right out ridiculous. I would have just thrown off my bucket and go after him. Seriously at that point, keeping my face hidden is the least of my worries. By the sounds of it, seems like some teenage brat is the culprit? Had a similar situation that happened to a friend of mine when he set his RT-97C against a counter next to him, some guy tried to run off with it and tried to brush it off as a joke when he got caught... I will never understand these people and I hope karma bites them in the butt. Anyways I'm sorry this has happened to you.
  6. Normally I'd just watch what my fellow troopers are doing. Sometimes I'd give random kids hi-fives, wave at them, shake their hand. Just something to get them smiling.
  7. That is... SICK!!! If only you could wear the TKC while riding.
  8. Oh ebay... where anyone can call their Stormtrooper parts "real", "genuine", and my personal favorite "501st approved". I find it amusing how he's using his father as a means to justify his legitimancy. Which I can't say for sure but sounds strange and odd to me.
  9. I keep tape, velcro, scissors, white out.
  10. I can't wait to see these casts.
  11. You know what after looking at the picture again, it looks like a Batman-like costume from the old movies.
  12. So which is worse? That stormtrooper helmet posted while back or this one?
  13. Just to give my experiences here, I too once considered a Rubies brand on ebay but what stopped me was not only that every picture of the armor was the exact same one which raised suspision, but it doesn't even look right compared to the ANH, ESB, or even RotJ versions. I'm sure a lot of us here would rather not build it ourselves but fact is from my experiences with building my armor is that it is extremely more beneficial and will give you your money's worth. You can proudly say when people ask where you get this, you tell them, "I built it myself." I don't blame you for not wanting to build it yourself but like everyone says here, it is more beneficial to you if you do it yourself. Look at it this way, from what I understand, you have a set budget but do not want to assemble your armor. It's either you spend less and build it yourself or spend more past your budget and get someone to make it for you which may or may not fit comfortably when it gets to you. By the way I don't believe you've elaborated on why exactly you don't want to assemble it yourself.
  14. You should check out the CRL for the TKC. http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_commander As for armor, it's pretty much using the RotJ TK as a base and then the blue paint and some weathering.
  15. Now that looks great! You look like one of those Sideshow figures.
  16. TK-3942 requesting 501st access. http://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=13889
  17. Happy Holidays everyone!
  18. Dude... that's a lot suits. Still, looking good there.
  19. That looks pretty awesome. As far as I know I don't see any problems.
  20. He probably stole too much energon from them. Did they also ban the Nerf Longstrike? Pic is kinda small.
  21. Are those ANH Heroes and Stunts in that last pic? Hand guards and face frowns look that way.
  22. You probably won't find much I'm afraid. Best I know so far is the sales section. I'm sure everyone agrees on this but it's better that you assemble your own armor. I was in your boat once and wanted something quick. After talking with a couple of guys here and exploring this forum, I realized that in most cases it's cheaper and more of a benefit than buying something pre-assembled.
  23. I got my AM kit about 2 weeks ago but me and my dad are trying to figure out how to actually trim it without breaking the parts. What kind of cutting tools do you use? I saw that you were using what seems to be regular scissors but I'm not sure if that's the best choice. And is it necessary to have the return edges?
