  1. Hot glue things I typically can just pull off without anything else, maybe a butter knife as leverage. Also, have you considered padding instead of hard hat liner? I've got hard hat liner in mine and I've tried on helmets with padding and I like padding much better. The hard hat liner takes up quite a bit of room (or at least in my bucket it does). Good luck!
  2. I've only had 1 or 2 snaps fail and 1 snap tear through its strap. Most of my "maintenance" is giving the armor a buff and wipe down after each troop which probably takes less than 30 minutes (and to be honest I probably only do it once every 3 troops unless there is some really noticeable mark).
  3. I'm still working with TKs in my area on nailing a name down before we create a team, looking forward to it!
  4. Another video update. A 3po builder was asking me about my arm construction so I threw this together real quick.
  5. Some more updates! Legs and torso mods. Legs: Torso: Video update (It is a bit lengthy, but some people might be interested in it) Video privacy settings fixed!
  6. You've done a very nice job assembling your helmet! Looks like you are moving right along
  7. I'd echo the sentiments of those above me, unless you have to order within the continent, I'd go with Karin's.
  8. Someone around here has the meme.... I only know the quote... "Ebay, you will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy"
  9. "These suits are super hard to get and very rare but the prefered suit of the 501st." False advertising?
  10. There are several different makers here in the "on going sales" area or you can check out the one that trooperbay.com offers
  11. Very nice armor! One day I will get a TM or RS helmet! They are such nice looking pieces!
  12. Great work on those ears. It really is the hardest part of the suit, the rest should be a breeze for you!
  13. If you're a smaller person it can be appropriate to take a little off the cod. I know it is something I've been planning to do with my TK for a while. The cod region of the armor for me is larger than my groin area so the cod armor cuts into the inside of my legs a little, but it isn't terrible (I've trooped it that way for over a year now). My eventual mod will probably be to sand or trim about an eigth of an inch off the edges of the cod region.
  14. I'd have to agree with the previous 2 post, unless you absolutely hate it, I think that ear is good to go. I've seen people approved with much larger gaps. The front looks amazing (much better than any of my original attempts) and the back is only off by a little. One thing to keep in mind is that almost no one will ever be looking at the back of your helmet; most people want a picture with the TK from the front, unless they are checking out your assets
  15. Best of luck! On my ATA I screwed up 1 ear for each side and then solicited garrison help as well (though for me it was a day trip of 4 hours to st louis and 4 hours back home). But it was worth it. There will be some gaps. If get your gaps pretty well taken care of sometimes a heat gun can be used to tweak things just a little bit, but you have to be careful to not melt the ABS and caused it to bubble. Edit: at 2nd glance both of those ears are actually salvageable. You did a great job on the fronts and the backs can be made to where the gap is pretty minimal. You can either do a little with the dremel sander, sand paper, or hobby knife. Hobby knife will help you to just take slivers off at a time, sanding will also make it so you are taking minimal off each time. The fronts look great like I said earlier, so I wouldn't touch them until the end (in case you have to take a little off if they are too big or something. Also, remember that you are screwing this thing down, a small gap that shows up when you hold it up by hand will almost disappear when it is screwed down tight.
  16. Only thing I can recommend against is hard hat helmet liner, it takes up way too much room in most screen-derived sized buckets.
  17. If I can't go the wireless route then I will be using the Aker that is meant for my TK (half the time I don't worry about hooking it up in the TK). Obviously in 3PO I'll be expected to talk and pull off lots of his one-liners and such.
  18. For voice there are 2 options, both kind of end up with the speaker in the same place. The ideal option: Find a way to connect a speaker to a blue tooth so I don't have wires running everywhere (the suit will be difficult enough to put on without wires). The realistic option: Use the same mic set-up we use in our TKs. In both options I will probably put the speaker behind the belly mat and cut some slits in the belly mat so sound can project out of it. It'll be more convenient there because it wont actually be taking up any space in the armor pieces. All of that said, I'm going to have to start working on my Anthony Daniels impersonation, haha.
  19. I'm trying my hand at video updates for progression with the 3PO build. Let me know what you guys think!
  20. When I trimmed to fit myself I trimmed the mold lines so they would be covered by the recommended cover strip size.
  21. Dang, I was hoping to see an April Fools EIB upload of a Rubies. Good looking suit there though!
