  1. Depends on what your goal is. If you're going for FISD Elite, then no... it's not. If you're just wanting to get into the Legion, then yes... I believe it is.
  2. Are only people named Alex allowed to post here? Guess not. Yes, what Alex #2 said is right. However... I troop in TE2 armor, which is HIPS, and it is incredibly durable! In fact I've had a few guys watch me put it on in awe because of how flexible it is. When HIPS is done well it's really good stuff. Put it this way, it's good enough that there's still much debate on which is better and plenty of people on either side.
  3. Like I said, maybe more... but, still... no cheese.
  4. Yes. There was like 1 dude that had them... maybe more. But they are canon. The cheese, however, is not.
  5. E-6000 on this TD's plate.
  6. Hey man... you're right in that the AP doesn't need to be painted. It's shiny ABS so all you might want to do is polish it now and then, but you can start putting that bad boy together right away. (I think) I don't know what the decals that come with the AP look like, but I would recommend looking at getting a set of decals from TK-4510. His are THE best! ----------
  7. Exactly right. You can do a TE2 so that it's got quite a bit of room... the brow will be lower and the opening bigger, but it's more about how you assemble it than the actual helmet. Of course what everyone else said is true too.
  8. If you get TD-4510's decals (which are the best imho) then they come uneven / accurate like that. The move along version. That's what me's got!
  9. Hey man. Take Runnriottt's advice and check out these forums... they're amazing. You can also have a look at StarWarsHelmets.com to get a major education on what armor is what. (Check out the fan-made section.) And for a quick run down there's always my short and sweet Armor 101 page. Hope that helps! And we're here if you need us!
  10. Congrats man! How exiting those brown boxes are! Yes, get a camera and take pictures and POST them here!! We're here if you need us!
  11. There's also this set of reference pics on Flickr.
  12. That's already a lot better imho! It was good before, but you've really made it look a lot more ominous by raising the brow like that! No real reason to paint the inside black that I know of. Just looks "cooler" when kids see the inside when your bucket is off and you're holding it chatting with someone. Great work man!
  13. You can raise the brow one of two ways... or both ways in one. 1) trim off the cap so the brow "pushes up" further 2) unscrew the sides and "tilt" the bottom of the cap and back "inward" so that the opening is smaller for your head. This causes the brow to "raise." I did the 2nd of those options. Of course you're limited in some ways to your head size. I can get my bucket on really easily... getting it off takes a bit of nose and ear rubbing. haha But those two things, or a little of both, are the main ways to do that. As for the ears just look at pics. They're tricky I know... but reference, reference, reference, measure... reference... measure... start to cut... stop... measure... reference... reference... reference... measure... cut.
  14. Absolutely 501st acceptable. The only things I see — if you want nit picking — is I'd make the ears a bit thinner on the front part of the round. So they don't stick out away from the side of the helmet as much. That's a totally personal opinion thing though. Are you referencing a certain bucket from the movies? Or just doing a "general" TK? I can't tell yet by the pics. Very nice job so far man! Keep us posted!!!
  15. Scroll down till you see the ab plates on this thread... humbrol #5 for the grey and #14 for the blue
  16. You can also refresh your memory on painting with TK-4510's video tutorials here. The painting starts around #19. The brow fits different on everyones. I have mine so "raised" (move along) that it is wedged against the faceplate pretty tight. I followed that entire set of videos for my build though too. Great job so far... keep us posted!
  17. Did you do this build, or did you have it done?
  18. Fantastic! My only critique would be that it's not in my possession.
  19. They are MISSING as in not included? Wow.
  20. You're right, it's not the best assembled I've seen... but you're also right that it looks pretty good as an authentic, 1970's TK! I think with some cleaning up some glue here and there and such you'll have a pretty nice looking set of armor! You know you have the calfs swapped on the wrong side in the pictures don't you? The "sniper plate" calf goes on the left leg. The "plain" calf on the right. Yeah, post some pics once you have it on! Congrats too on getting the TE!
  21. They've said it all... and all they've said is true. You can also read my "Armor 101" (very brief description of most of the popular armors) here. Good luck... and good job coming and asking first!!!
  22. Congrats man! You're entering into a wonderful, wonderful world! Good luck... have fun... and take pictures!!!
  23. Good question! If you do this (anyone) and can post pics / video I'm sure we'd all post and say, "Thank you!" at least.
