I actually like the new ones okay too... especially ROTS.
The very first one is, by far, my least favorite... by... far...

I think a lot of people fall foul to the fact the trim each side the same distance
Front should be narrow, the rear should be thicker.
This is due to the way the helmet curves away from you by the ears
The front face is quite flat, but the back end of the helmet starts to curve away from you on the backcap
So trim one side at a time. Do the front first
EXCELLENT point!
This is so true... and I take it for granted that everyone just "knows" this now and forget I once did not!
-
One good tip I read at some point is to fasten them on the side then "stretch" the ears down along the side-curve so they're "tight" and drill the whole and fasten them there.

I'll troop inside before the show, try to step on stage and dance. At the end of the movie i'll shake everyone's hand when they leave and thank them for coming (i got a lot of free time).
I'm gonna try and get all the TKs I know to run through the theater from front to back during the Tantive IV scene.

Here's the rub...
I live in an apartment (no place or tools to construct)...
All I'm saying is if Rolf can do it, you can do it!

I hope Tony is not mad at me, i wrote to him several times and got no answer so far.
I guess he is just out or something.
Does he usually do a batch and sell them off or will he take requests on the fly?
He's not mad at you... don't worry. I don't think Tony gets mad.
And yes, I believe — I could be wrong on this — that he does runs... not "on the fly."

And, as I said on facebook a few months back, by 3D they do of course mean "3D" (in quotes.)

If you want to buld your kit to achieve EIB then do whatever is necessary. I am not familiar with whatever the requirements are, nor do I care. Only ANH screen accuracy all the way for me baby
I know that's the case and admire you greatly for that!
But, actually, I'm building for the new Centurion status — which includes EIB of course.

I think I need some basic lessons in x-acto knife wielding.
I had a whole semester of X-ACTO knife cutting at the Kansas City Art Institute in 1991.
And yes, you'll have to "make them fit."
That's just the way armoring goes sometimes.

Redo it!
It's always better to do it so you're happy even if it means more time and effort!
-
YES!
That helps.
Is that a pic you took?

Personally I'd go for the ones like mine as it's clear what it is (to those who know)
Otherwise it just looks like an ANH blaster minus the counter box.....?
That's kind of my thoughts about it...

I guess the kind most of the TKs had on Cloud City.
I like the greeblies... if that's what most of them had, then great... just want it to be most known as the ESB blaster.
-
That's awesome John, thanks!
But... it has the greeblies.
-
This is a good pic... thanks!
I still need more though.

Screen used.
(minus this pic... right?)

The rest of the strapping is a little different on my build — that pic isn't my armor in other words, but it gives you a good picture of the size of the straps.
I actually have 2 short straps connecting my left side, and the one long thin strap at the top of the right side, with another short one under it.
Then 3 straps holding the butt plate to the kidney, and 2 holding the kidney to the back plate.

In a thread from years ago I posted up a bunch of screen grabs from ESB. I'm not even sure of the title of the thread, but I think it had to do with EIB requirements and the promo EBS blaster that had been cast and was being offered at the time with extra greeblies on it.
Yeah, I thought I had that bookmarked, but couldn't find it... hence this post.
Let me know if you find, and I will do the same.
In the meantime... anyone else?

Welcome man!!

Where are some good, high-res images of an ESB E-11 blaster?

this diagram made me bust out laughing. HAHA.
Good.

We're allowing people to deploy as SWAT on the MEPD without a pack because...
1) you have to already be deployed as a Police Officer... so you'll HAVE the pack...
2) everything else is about mimicking a trooper (ex: pauldron must match blaster much match pack) so why not allow it?
I don't think the TKs are as specific though.
I mean the TDs were really, really obvious that "this one" was "this one."
They were made to be different on purpose by the production team.
The Mr. No-Tube-Stripes (esq.) was just a mistake.
Not the same thing... that's my two credit chits at least.
