Modding a Hasbro to pass the time
senna1rossi replied to daennika's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
^ cool! aren't the vent holes supposed to be alternately (diagonally) positioned? -
on CRL for ANH stunt, it indicates that blasters are an optional item? "Items below are optional costume accessories. These items are not required for approval, but if present must meet the guidelines below." does this mean that anyone can be apporved for EIB without owning and showing their blasters for EI submittal?

i found these at a local Harbor Freight (hardware/tool) store, and thought it would be perfect for anyone still looking for decent gloves for their TK armor... it was a great deal at only $5! and it looks much better than the typical gloves found elsewhere. it even has rubberized-ish finish on the palm and some on the other side.... at least you won't sweat like you would in full rubber gloves. yeah?! ----------

that would be a cool poster! merci Steve! -
haa haa, rather strange, but is there a rivalry of sorts among the stomtrooper units? isn't being a TK the best in 501st Legion (they do outnumber other costumes/armors by big margin)?? or am i biased because this is FISD...? i hear TDs are dirty and smelly and can't walk straight (not to mention letting two droids get right through their check-point...), and TBs are weak and "girly" (look at those wimpy pop-gun pistols they call blasters...) and can't RIDE straight (oops, was that a tree...?) so is this true or am i just stirring a pot of something... > > :bikerscout: > :clonetrooper: and of course: :ewok1: > :bikerscout:

just curious... why was this the case in the original?

so it's stronger than an epoxy? wouldn't resin pieces pop off if you drop the blaster using E-6000?

Doopydoos all resin E-11 build

awesome build!! -
Oh! I also wanted to mention my thermal detonator mounting clip (so other newbies could get some ideas... i was stuck on this for couple of weeks). i just used a left-over stainless steel 12" long ruler. I cut in half and used TK4702's design as a basis to bend and shape, and mounted it with screws at center of TD. I like the ss ruler better than the tandy/banker's clip idea because these are wider (about 1-1/4" wide), so it looks more screen accurate. Just make sure to attach against the white end caps when you align them to screw. I ordered TK4702's awesome V.2 belt clips, but have these for now as a quick fix while applying for the 501st.

shweet. congrats! PVC?

Cool! It's leather and it still looks 100 times better than Rubies... Shouldn't they have made a Scout Trooper too?
-
^ You may also want to consider using a 12" long stainless steel ruler. It was difficult for me to find a clip for my TD, so i just used the ruler I had and cut it in half, and bent it to shape. It also looks more accurate width wise. The Tandy clips are too narrow, I think...

First and foremost, I would like to thank FISD and everyone on here for all the great info, help, and knowledge. As I mentioned before, I wouldn't have been able to finish my armor build without you guys and gals! Thanks! I just sent these pics to a 501st Garrison for their approval. I hope my build and pics will be enough to convince them... I'm a bit excited and nervous. Anything I should change, adjust, or redo? Wish me luck!!!!!

I know it's required to have 1"~ wide metal clips for EIB, but could I attach the thermal detonator straight to my belt for 501st Legion approval? I've looked and searched locally for something (anything) that would work as a clip to bend and shape, but no luck. I've tried looking for banker's clips (office teapot), camping table clip-ons (walmart), and straight alu pieces (home teapot), but to no avail... even, tried to bend stainless steel scale (ruler), but was too flimsy. I'm on the list for TK4702's clips, but I was hoping that I could submit application and pics this weekend (I don't want to lose my TK number available...)... Thanks!
