  1. I used a tailoring measuring tape to determine the best spot to make the hole for the snap. Measured many times to be sure. Another method I used was placing a small colored clay below the canvas belt on both sides, then position the belt on the AB plate and press. The clay would be transferred onto the AB plate thus better pinpointing the spot to drill. I using TKittell's belt too and its good. I made the holes on the canvas belt by hammering a nail thru it on a wood block.
  2. An educational tutorial read for me who is currently working on a TK bucket!
  3. What is the expected time frame for the paint to dry or settle before I can apply the polish coating? I have an AP bucket but somehow its default white does not match with my AM FX armor. I have current apply one thin coat of Krylon Gloss White but at the moment did not notice any glossy feel to it. Currently it has been 5 days since I applied the 1st coat and the surface still a little bitsy sticky and would leave a thin dent if my fingernails accidentally scratch the surface.
  4. For my case, even after 3 days, after I removed the cover strip, I can still remove the excess E6000 residual by rubbing them with my thumb...end up like a roll of nose drop. I used the cutter to carefully cut away the dried E6000 before comfortably stripping away. There may be scars but wont damage the other areas or crack the armor. I too apply some tapes over the cover strip before putting on the clamps which will reduce the risk of it shifting. Watch it for a period of time just to make sure the bugger dont give you another slip up.
  5. Yup, preferably to go for size 11 if your feet is 10.5 I wearing size 10 and there not seem to be any much space/ room for another 0.5 from my observation. Hope you get your boots soon!
  6. You're welcome. Have TKBoots replied your request? They response fast.
  7. Hi Matt, Luv the shadow stormtrooper armor. Was it initially white and you had it resprayed black or AM FX kit comes in black as well. I also acquired an AM FX last month. I must agree that it fits for bigger and tall individual. Had to cut away alot to have it fit me comfortably. Its my first armor and I like it.
  8. Hi CT9926 and fellow FISD members, Ive ordered an size 10 from TKBoots and the pair is awesome. Fits just nice but felt a bit tight a first due to the fresh spandex material near the heel part. Here is my size 10. Ordered and received a month ago which TKBoots claimed was the last pair. Of course, there would be new production runs but may have to wait a little. You can contact TKBoots at troopersupplies@hotmail.com to enquire about the availability of sizes. If size is available, after making payment, mine reached fast within two weeks from US to Malaysia.
  9. Hi RogueTrooper, thanks for guiding me to the introduction counter. Luckily Vader was not there to force choke me. Before this, I was checking out some stormtrooper armor kits from Ebay...luckily the info from this thread was helpful to allow me to avoid getting this kit from Ebay. I dont want to end up paying big bucks and getting a kit which is not what it seems. Is there a thread where I can check out the various parts to a TK armor?
  10. Hi there, Im a newbie to FISD and this is the 1st beginner thread I started to read and really impressed on the info provided on some of the costume props makers. Very useful for newbie like myself who is considering getting the right armor kit. Much to learn from the Imperial war veterans here.
