  1. So this project started off as a Halloween build and has spiraled out since I started it about a week ago. I was just going to use rub-n-buff for the gold but now I am doing gold leaf, I was going to wear a red kilt and now I am going to either order or make a proper kama. Right now I have the helmet printed and assembled but I have been fighting a de lamination of the dome along the brow. I tried to use thin layers of UV resin and it is having having some reactions with the Bondo spot putty and its not curing to the spots with the resin. I have drilled it out and am working on filling it in, next time I will just reprint the part. For right now the mask is done but I may have to redo it to get the texture better. Hopefully I can have the helmet done in a few days but for now the armor is printing.

  2. Google apps images won't show in the forum, many of us use a free image host Imgur, here's a great tutorial We also try to use E6000 glue, this is in case you make a mistake or need go resize any pieces, CA glue is pretty permanent. FYI Top knee TD Sandtrooper Bottom knee TK Stormtrooper

  3. The Great Lake Garrison has been supporting events I host for the St. Baldrick's Foundation for many years, absolutely love them. Their sense of community is respectable and prompted me to sign up after seeing a dedicated lone trooper carrying the weight of an event on his own this year. I'm located about 30 miles north of Detroit (Washington Twp) and happy to see there are a number of members in my area. As I carefully start cutting away, will most likely ask questions (after excessive research) on here and across the web to get this kit built in short order. If anyone wants to do a build party, we do have ample room and a pub in the house. Also picked up a 3d printer for accessories while I waited for my WTF kit to arrive.

  4. When I build I tend to lean very heavily into the idea of making things modifiable and replaceable which is why I use the screws, but I probably could have just glued the green plastic in and been fine.

  5. Red light is added but under Lvl 3 as all lights are. Keeping this the same as with blasters for continuity across CRL's

  6. I use Chicago screws embedded in milliput (epoxy putty) for the lenses and electrical tape for the frown screen. Both have held up for 7 years. But tbh nobody will ever see the inside of your helmet so there's probably lots of different methods.

  7. Some small progress, it’s starting to look like a blaster now.

  8. You will find with some pressure they should easily come off. If you have any ABS plastic left over you could add a stiffener pieces under the shoulder strap, either heat with a heat gun or on a tray in the oven, then form to the shape of the shoulder, this extra piece helps to prevent cracks. Just remember to rough up both pieces with coarse sandpaper before gluing
