Hi there,

I have a few questions and was wondering if some of you TK gurus could help and perhaps post some pictures.:P

1: Do you cut the butt and crotch plates both for movement? if so where? and how do you re-attach?

2: how do you guys add white plates in the sides to avoid the black openings?

3: I am going ANH style, is the black plastic strap around the bicep a requirement?

For the girl troopers...

How do you deal wth hips etc? I have chunky legs/hips <_< and need to shim the back, but when you open up the right thigh some :P in the back it starts to bend inward in a weird way above the knee up front. Do I use a heatgun to curve it out some?

Hi Miranda!

OK, don't take my word as expert advice, but this is what I know to the best of my knowledge:

1. By butt and crotch you mean kidney and butt? (both on the back) or the lower front and back pieces?

-----

2: The AB (front) and kidney (back) parts should ideally touch, but you can use a shim to bridge the gap. A not so recommended route would be an elastic band or other non plastic part. Here you have a reference:-----

3: If by that you mean the black elastic that holds the shoulder part in place, I think yes, it is required (but no rivet should be visible.) Again, another fine example by Stukatrooper here: -----

The only reference I can give you for a girl trooper is our own Olivia, from the Spanish Garrison.

You have a couple of pictures ----- (the frist from the left.) I don't know if that is of much help.

Regards.

hey there =D i'ma gonna try to help as much as i can since this place help me alot too and here is the system i have reguards the cod and butt pieces

please excuse my lack of pictures at the moment so i devise a drawing that i hope you can understand

i didnt really go the route of snaping on the cod or butt piece of the armor like what dmian post above me stated for the sole reason of trying to sit in the armor lol plus with the chunky thighs that part with elastic band on bottom be like a weggie galor unless you length it right which at this point i went with cloth since the elastic kept snaping the snaps off <.<

=/ i bought my armor form someone here and was taller then me so the legs needed alot of work to suit me but if you have a kit that was never modified your better then me at that point since all i did was strap velcro on the outside and then slap a piece strip to cover the hole on my thigh and shin backs (in diagram)

I'll try to post a pic when i get it on me later but yeah this is my system so >.> yeah dont take it as expert but i am just throwing my ideas out

Wow! thanks guys, all this is already very helpfull :)

I was planning to separate the kidney and butt and also the abs and cod piece for better movement and perhaps being able to sit hehe

You'll look great in a TK. Just do the needed adjustments to the hip zone and it'll fit.

As you see in the pictures, Olivia wears it and she look great in it. If you don't pay close attention you can't tell that's a girl wearing the armor (I usually can tell by the boots :D )

Yes she sure does look great! heh I actually bought size 10 caboots which are too big on me but some padding should do the trick and I look like I have big guy feet :P

well i was thinking of bathroom means as well and the abs piece would just slide right off leaving me like the picture just my bottom half which with belt i just slide that down like a normal pants granted thigh armor over shin armor

and as for sitting i can sit and move the cod piece up more then if it is attach to the abs. and if granted i want to sit for a long period of time i would just completely take the cod and butt off via the velcro and sit without worring of cracking stuff from em...easier then taking the full abs off

Also, Spoox, I want to emphasize that the butt should be cut at the bottom edge of where you'll wear the belt, but if you cut the cod, the cut should be hidden behind the belt, as the ANH ab/cod weren't cut, so no cut shoudl show. It works well to cut out a one-inch swath in there to give more "scrunch" room between the pieces. Just make sure the cut is fully hidden and the pieces all line up right. :)
