Cutting FX Abs

I just got my kit and I'm working on it. I noticed the "butt" of the suit appears to have a seam on it. Is that where I cut it to separate for Elite Status? Also, where is the front cut? It doesn't appear marked.

The cod cut up front isn't required for EIB, and I've seen mixed opinions on whether or not it's worth it in terms of going #1. Personally, I didn't do it. I'm just careful about managing my fluid intake, especially during long troops.

For me the front ab split made a huge different in comfort. It wasn't about being able to pee. I'm now also able to sit.

 

If you do split the front, attach it in the center, not on the ends, to allow for the cod piece to move better.

Actually the seam on the back plate is too high for most folks and will be behind the belt. If you look at the screen caps the split is below the belt.

 

I'd suggest wearing the armor first and then, using the screen caps as reference, draw a line in pencil where the split should be for you.

I cut some off both the butt and kidney to make it fit just right. Start slow and test, test, test to get it right.
