Vengeance[TK] Posted July 3 Report Posted July 3 (edited) I wanted to try out a rather budget friendly kit from the local armorshop (Gotta love skipping shipping) for my wife and I to have some TK's we could travel with a bit easier. 850 has been messing around with some classic kits with a more ladies/kids scale and something closer to his normal size similar to the R1TK. WE made some quick progress early in but have slowed down a fair bit these days as cadet #2 is on the way so my build has taken the lead a bit. Problem is I'm slow as can be at building up kits, but tutorials and reference here have helped me get this kit built up pretty well I feel. I still have a fair bit of fine tuning, but my initial setups have been pretty good. The road to Centurion is a long one and I don't know if this kit will quite make it there with me driving but I'm doing what I can to get it there! 850 Build Photos Hoping that finally making a build thread here will get me some motivation to finish up. It's quite close in many parts but that helmet detailing has slowed me down a lot. My wife got a fast suit up but I'm well ahead. Just need to get my belt sewn up and I'll really be able to toss it all on more. I also have some size comparison photos with the DDS kit I have. Massive difference, though the 850 shins are huuge! I trimmed them down a fair bit to get a better fit to me. Been a while since I've had to host and post photos on the forums, any good tips there when linking from Google Photos? gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted July 3 Report Posted July 3 Google photos generally don't work, I use Imgur or Flickr to host images, (Imgur can no longer be seen by those in the UK) Here's another host First time I've seen an OTTK from 850, looking forward to seeing your progress 1 Quote
Vengeance[TK] Posted July 6 Author Report Posted July 6 (edited) Very nice, thanks for the tip there. My wife's kit laid out. This is a more scaled down kit overall. This trimmer was great for those first cuts, nicer than the dremmel for straight cuts. We got her into a test fit pretty early, but progress has stalled here. This allowed my kit to catch up. Always nice to see the helmet come together. Hate working on the ears. Dave's Left and 850 right Dave's Left and 850 right Dave's Left and 850 right Dave's Left and 850 right, I like the trimmer fit for myself but I think 850's could benefit from a bit of additional width Dave's Left and 850 right Here's the anomaly where the 850 shins are way bigger than Dave's 850 bicep probably could have used more shaping on my part. Helmet details coming in, very out of practice on my hand painting. Edited July 6 by Vengeance 1 Quote
