New ANH Build [ATA] - Build towards Centurion (TK-159)

Hello Troopers!

My name is Jim, and I'm from the Dallas area. I've been a member of the 501st since 2002. Since I joined so long ago, my armor is a very old, modified FX set with a bunch of upgrades including an ATA helmet. For years, I've wanted to update to a more modern suit. I purchased an ATA kit a long, long time ago. After working on it a little bit, life got busy and I never finished it. I'm inspired by all the amazing builds on here, and it's got me thinking about my kit again.

I'm motivated to get started again and shoot for centurion. Whether I'll get there or not, I dIon't know, but I want to try for the highest quality new armor I can. My plan is to post here for help and advice as I go along. I've got a lot of work ahead of me.

We also have a pre approval thread you may want to post in once your build is complete, before you contact your GML, good way to iron out any issues before applying for approval.

Thanks! gmrhodes13 I've already got this one of MaskedVengeance marked with a dozen other threads.  I even took Caleb's inspiration and started my own compliation doc with tons of advice and pics from across the forums.

You bring up a good question. I'm already an active member with an approved ANH TK costume. After I build this one, do I need a GML approval again?

First question for all of you. I built my ATA helmet years ago. I'd appreciate any feedback on whether it would hold up for Centurion certification. Here are the things I know I need to do:

1. Add single black stripe to ears.
2. Re-paint ear screw heads to white.
3. Install my green eyes. (I have them, but have grey installed right now)

Helmet: ATA ANH
Decals: Trooperbay "Dave M Helmet Hand Painted Look Decals ANH"Repainting thethe a 

From the pictures below is there anything else I'll need to change? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you to anyone who has good advice!

Different make of armor so I would suggest yes, but it's really up to your GML, wouldn't hurt to reach out and confirm.

I don't think you will have any issues with your helmet and approval, nice clean build, well done.

As Glen said, well done on your helmet! Glad to see you've found some use of my resource thread. Sometime I need to go back and finish posting my armor build and the associated PDF writeup!

Thanks! Your threads have been amazing. I'm definitely going to use some of your ideas and I've been studying your build and submission threads intensely. I would love to see the rest of your build if you're ever able to finish documenting it! Your level of detail is super helpful.
