HWT pre-build Q's

Hi everyone,

 

I'm just starting to plan my HWT mod for my TK. I've acquired a backpack, ammo packs, extra belt, participation and dlt-19

 

I'm looking to get started on the belt and ammo packs but realized after looking through a few build threads, I'm stumped on a few logistics. 

 

1) do the hip ammo packs just sit there on loops, or do they snap onto the belt?

 

2) I've read some posts where people attached the should pouch to the pauldron and some say to the pack strap. I assume this one snaps on?

 

I think those are all my questions for now.

I added loops to the back of the pouches which go over the belt, the also cover the holster rivet snaps.

Not my photo but similar, my straps are a little wider to fit the belt.

 

For the shoulder pouch I made another strap with snaps which went through the pouch loops and on to the pack straps. Sorry no photo of the connecting strap.

Thanks for sharing. So if I get this right, you added another strap for the shoulder pouch and that one had snaps to connect it to the should strap for the backpack?

 

And does that pack always go vertically? I thought I saw some that has the pack sideways a little bit?

Correct, also the strap I used was elastic and a little tight so it didn't slip. I've seen people add straps from under the pauldron to the bicep elastic, really doesn't how you attach as long as the strapping isn't seen from the front

 

Most references show vertical to slightly angled
