Looks good for a first build. 2 minor tweaks I would try would be to shorten the drop box straps, and take a little off the bottom of the shoulder bells.

The FX armor was a poor yet good choice for a first armor kit (for the simplicity). It's a shame it's like 40 sizes too large.

 

I'm afraid of shortening the shoulder bells. Not the cutting part, but the finishing, making them look all clean and nice.

That is what 400 and 800 grit sandpaper is for .

I guess if I manage to do it right it won't ruin the shine.

 

Know of any places that sell ABS polish other than ebay?

Just use the sandpaper on the edge not the surface.
