oblagon Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 I'm using the canvas/elastic belt that came with the AP set and I want to rivet my holster to it. I did a search and found that a few people had mounted a strip of plastic behind the belt to help keep it rigid. My question is how well has this worked out for whoever's tried it. Does the drilled hole cause the belt to tear when stretched? How would you guys add the hole into the belt...drilling? or should I buy a fabric hole punch? Also is there a specific distance the holster needs to be mounted from the ABS part of the belt? Quote
tk0000[501st] Posted July 22, 2008 Report Posted July 22, 2008 Several troopers are using "aftermarket" heavy canvas belts. There are a few people that make these custome fit here on the boards. Quote

TK8776 jgarrettg Posted July 23, 2008 Report Posted July 23, 2008 I made a canvas belt based on a tutorial here on the forums. I found the best way to make the holes is with a soldering iron. The heat seals the the threads and burns through the ABS and elastic or nylon like butter. Be sure not to breath the fumes. One modification I made to the belt was to use 2 inch nylon strap instead of elastic. It makes the belt much more solid and still allows a minimum amount of give. So far it's working well. Quote
