BicycleTrooper
Newbie here, starting to explore what involved in building my armor for 501 approval. I've been searching for acceptable men boots that aren't leather. I'm quite sure I will have to get them dyed. Currently look to do an ANH Stunt, and maybe also do a Scout Trooper. Anyway, will any properly dyed Chelsea/Jhodpur boot suffice? If so, can anyone recommend one to me that I can mod? Thanks!

justjoseph63[Staff]
Welcome to the FISD, Ayaz! Unless it is an ethical issue, I would suggest going with leather. Man-made materials will not accept dye but instead will need to be painted, but I believe there are a few tutorials on here for that. Leather also "breathes", and can expand to fit your foot. If it is an ethical issue, finding a holster may prove difficult, but I am sure there are materials that can be used that will work and there are also templates available You may have to have it custom-made, though. Best of luck to you on your white armor journey, and we are always available for questions!
