The Anonymous Egyptian Posted March 29, 2017 Report Posted March 29, 2017 Are any of you guys attending this year? As mentioned in another post, I'll be going with a group of friends. LFCC is on the 30th of July at London Olympia. It'll hopefully be my first full armor troop,so that'll be interesting!! Quote
themaninthesuitcase[Admin] Posted March 29, 2017 Report Posted March 29, 2017 It's not a UKG troop I don't think, certainly wasn't last year, but a lot of members go as paying customers. Quote

themaninthesuitcase[Admin] Posted March 30, 2017 Report Posted March 30, 2017 Wait, do the 501st get free entry to conventions?Only if you're trooping and then you're expected to work, so you don't really see much of any con. 1 Quote

justjoseph63[Staff] Posted March 30, 2017 Report Posted March 30, 2017 So what does the "work" entail? At some cons, local Squads/Garrisons are allowed to set up an information booth/prop display. Those who stay in the booth or help set up and/or tear down sometimes get in for free, but not all the time. At C8 for example, working the booth or various displays does not entitle you to a free pass. 1 Quote

themaninthesuitcase[Admin] Posted March 30, 2017 Report Posted March 30, 2017 Work for a con would mean your either in costume trooping or spotting for the costumers for the duration of the even less a lunch break (30-60mins ish). When trooping you will be in groups roughly 3-10 people in size depending on who's there and the event. You'll then patrol, be in photos, entertain and so on. Buckets stay on at all times when in public areas. The UKG has a strong reputation and all members are expected to behave according to this. We do have a stand that's at cons but generally that's staffed by the PR team or command. 1 Quote
