TK4205 Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 This is a personal project of mine. No CRL as of yet. The armor differs dramatically from Clone Wars Rex. I had thought I would just use my animated clone parts, but upon comparison, I realized I need to sculpt my own to get a closer match. I'm using the pink poly-foam from Home Depot. It's quick and easy for sculpting. 50 grit sandpaper cuts it like butter. It's messy. 1 Quote
TK4205 Posted September 25, 2016 Author Report Posted September 25, 2016 (edited) starting to take shape... Edited September 25, 2016 by TK4205 Quote
eqdizzle[TK] Posted September 25, 2016 Report Posted September 25, 2016 BTW...there is a CRL for this character...on the RL board. This version of Rex is not 501st eligible. Here's one that is approved for COR: http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/costume.php?mode=view&c=11855&bu=coslist.php%3Fview%3Dmy&bl=Back+to+my+costumes Now that being said, he had to mod a lot of his parts. If you're doing an armor kit...color me excited! Looks like a great start thus far! Quote

TK4205 Posted September 27, 2016 Author Report Posted September 27, 2016 Little more shaping before the bondo... Quote
TK4205 Posted September 28, 2016 Author Report Posted September 28, 2016 A little bit closer today. Sculpting from a cartoon isn't easy. Every single angle is different. Sometimes things are different sizes depending on the angle. Since nothing can be scaled properly from screen shots, I'll just find a happy medium. Quote
TK4205 Posted September 29, 2016 Author Report Posted September 29, 2016 Trying to figure out this back box I sanded down too far. So I added two inches to the center and shaped the back where I want it. I'll build the box detail last. Quote

TK4205 Posted October 2, 2016 Author Report Posted October 2, 2016 I was certain the belt and boxes would be a challenge because they seemed to be seamless and pliable. I used the same technique that I came up with for my FOTK pauldron. Now on to the shoulder bells... 1 Quote
