1st Timer Advice (Heavy Weapons Trooper)

Hello!  My finace and I have been cosplaying for years and have always wanted to get into the 501st.  With jobs and income now a thing, we are going to start the process of getting things underway.  I have never been a part of a community like this and everything seems a bit overwhelming pertaining to where to get armor, what is approveable, etc.  My fiance is going to do a Legacy Era female stormtrooper armor and has found a great number of resources for her, but for me, I want to do a Heavy Weapons Trooper (with either a DLT-19 Heavy Blaster Rifle or a T-21 Light Repeating Blaster Rifle).  I am just wondering what the best places would be to get all the necessary parts that would be 501st approved as well as being done in a somewhat timely manner (we want to have everything done before Celebration Orlando in April).  I am 6'1" and around 210 lbs.  Any advice or directions you can point me towards would be greatly appreciated.  We cannot wait to get our armor started and become a part of the Galactic Empire.  Thanks!

As for becoming a Heavy Weapons Trooper, I can highly recommend that route... (I may be a little biased, though).   You will need a pack, and there are several great build threads located here:  http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/45-heavy-weapons-trooper/.

Joseph hit the nail on the head. I suggest figuring out what armor you want. Most likely it will be a bit of a wait to get it, so while waiting you can build the pack. I am a bit biased too. Since I finished my pack that is all I have trooped with haha. Good luck and ask plenty of questions.

I agree with both. I'm in the process of making a HWT from my ANH TK armor now. My pack is also gonna be a mix of both Tony's (ukswrath) and Charles' (Templar726) (Great builds),
