I currently have my 2mm ABS (Capped) kit trimmed, but with some rather rough edges that require sanding. However, I don't know what grit of sandpaper to use, that would do the job but not damage the plastic.

Personally I try not to use too coarse a grit to start off with, I begin with 120 grit then use wet and dry 300, 600 and 1200 to finish and a compound polish to bring back some shine.

You can put a nice final finish with 300-600. If you go high like 600 use the black color "wet" sandpaper with water to keep the grit of the paper open. I never went above 220-300 on my build and i have real soft edges.
