Darkblitz Posted July 5, 2016 Report Posted July 5, 2016 I currently have my 2mm ABS (Capped) kit trimmed, but with some rather rough edges that require sanding. However, I don't know what grit of sandpaper to use, that would do the job but not damage the plastic. Quote
eqdizzle[TK] Posted July 5, 2016 Report Posted July 5, 2016 Start coarse, approx. 60 grit, then switch to a grade or two finer, like 320 or even up to 1000 grit. 1 Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted July 5, 2016 Report Posted July 5, 2016 Personally I try not to use too coarse a grit to start off with, I begin with 120 grit then use wet and dry 300, 600 and 1200 to finish and a compound polish to bring back some shine. 4 Quote
russellr2d2[TK] Posted July 6, 2016 Report Posted July 6, 2016 (edited) You can put a nice final finish with 300-600. If you go high like 600 use the black color "wet" sandpaper with water to keep the grit of the paper open. I never went above 220-300 on my build and i have real soft edges. Darkblitz Posted July 7, 2016 Author Report Posted July 7, 2016 Thanks, helps a lot. I imagine all the edges are left sharp, rather than rounded to the front and back. Quote
