Bubblewrap's ESB Build (anovos)

Recommended Posts

Ok,  I got my son's kit done finally.  Pictures of problem areas to come.  One thing is certain, I suck at measuring thigh size, lol.  Here's my list of known issues and how I intend to fix them.

Here's a front shot.  Looks good from this angle . . .

Shoulder bells hang too far - going to shorten the strap from bell to bridge, easy fix. (not seen in this photo as they are tucked up) FIXED

Thighs WAY too big - gonna take apart in the back, trim substantially, glue back together

Sides of butt plate flare out - not sure how to fix this, but might make a little tab system

Right side mismatch between kidney plate and abs.  They line up when hanging, but the kidney plate seems to rise up when being worn - no idea how to fix this

I know this is the wrong weapon.  We don't have an E-11 yet.  Do you think the thighs are too tall at the tops?

we're having a few issues with alignment of parts due to the included velcro strap system.  We are getting rid of that over the next week or so and going to snap plates with 1" elastic.  Making a garter belt and some 2" loops for the thighs as well, since the included strap system is very awkward to assemble and position.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

thanks

Dave

I'm having the same problem with the ab plate and kidney plate not lining up with the velcro system. I've looked at a couple threads and i think the best way is to just trim the kidney or ab plate down on the sides. I already have my rivets in place but luckily wont need to trim that far. Also having same issue with butt plate sticking out on the sides, going to try putting a little elastic on it and attaching that to the lower ab plate to create some tension. Good luck!

I'm going to remove velcro and do proper snap plates with elastic first.  If it's still an issue, then I'll explore trimming.  Looking at the picture, I bet if I had a proper short elastic strap from the top corner of the kidney to that "unused" snap on the ab, it would stay tight and line up.  Currently that strap mounts to low and has a lot of play in it, which is why I think the parts don't match up when there is weight on the ab from the belt.

Thanks!
